Melodia

Okay...

I ordered some pants from Melodia from her Ebay store. Has anyone else ordered from her? Does she take a long time in delivery? It's been three weeks already. I was thinking it has to be made but no where in item description or anything does it say that it has to be made. So this leads me to assume that they're off the rack. I sent her emails and left her a phone message. I'm not getting any response. Is she traveling or something? Has anyone else run into this situation?

Truthfully, I'm not feeling comfortable about this situation. I hate to think that I'm out $76!

I have multiples from the fab Melodia. She doesn't actually do the mailing herself, Laura and Bonnie do. I believe that this is the week for Tribal Fest and that the group are there.

Most of hte time things come quickly. This may be one of those times that they did not, sorry! I'm also waiting for a pair. Why don't you try posting on the tribe for it?

I've dealt with them a lot and I'm confident that you'll be fine. It's really unusual not to get a response and I would suggest going through tribe for Bonnie.

I think they are getting ready for TribeFest 7 so who knows what's up, g

Last order I made took a couple of weeks to get here but they are totally worth the wait. The impression I get from them on tribe is they have had LOTS of orders (above the normal ) made lately and it's just taking a little long than normal to get them out.

Ohhh! Okay! I was really wondering what the deal was! Thanks for the reassurances. I'll go post on the link you posted, Kina, and see what happens.

I was hoping that they would be here in time for an audition. Oh well...

I've ordered several times from Melodia. Things I've learned:

* Sometimes it does take 2-3 weeks to get an order.
* I have received everything I ordered.
* Answering emails is not Melodia's strong point.
* Seems like Melodia and the women who help her (Bonnie & Laura) are perpetually overwhelmed with work.
* The best way to get answers is to participate in the Melodia tribe on tribe.net . Melodia herself doesn't go on the tribe very often, but Bonnie and Laura are both there quite a bit.
* They seem to be very, VERY nice people, and they seem to care a lot about making sure any problems are resolved. They're just swamped.

My advice to you: as soon as possible, go to the tribe link in Kina's message and post a message asking about your order. Provide enough details to help her identify you - date of the order, what you ordered, ebay order number, that sort of thing.

Tribal Fest starts May 16 and runs through the following weekend. Melodia will be vending there, and after it she'll be taking a week off. So the sooner you queue up your question, the better!

I've always gotten what I've ordered from her so I've never had any concern. The pants are well worth the wait too. They make your bum look smashing

Well, I posted on Tribe.

Let's see what happens. I'll let you all know what happens.

Auraevans, maybe your pants will be sent out along with mine since we ordered them about the same time?

I'm really quite anxious about getting the pants.

I have owned maybe 5 pairs of Melo's ... all online. I think I waited an average of 2-3 weeks too. This is a busy season, but I feel very confident for you as well.
And I second the fact that they are INDEED worth the wait!!

Hmmm...I need some eggplant Melo's!!!

Well, the main thing is that my order will be processed and all. I'm pretty much feeling much better. I'll just have to be patient.

Sheesh!!!! This weeks is going to kill me!!! I have sooo many things I'm anxiously waiting for!

Why do I suddenly have the vision of several dancers sitting on top of their mail boxes al la Snoopy's "vulture pose" waiting for thier melos to arrive? Poor mailmen are going to be in danger for their lives until they arrive....LOL!
Keep in mind my mailman knows when I've ordered something by the race out the door as soon as he pulls up. Says he never feels so loved as when I have a dance order waiting to come in

Yes ,they are worth waiting for. Even a bum like mine looks good in teal and black sash melodias. I've worn them in troupe dance and at workshops and for class and some of my students also have them now.
However I also have a pair of katrinamariedesigns "copy" pants from ebay and I have to say the quality is just as good. In fact you don't get the orange stitching on all kinds of colours you do with melodias. I got them because she does a fold over top and they are bright pink tie dye.!!! They are no cheaper and she states very clearly she is NOT melodia. She was very good to deal with and they came quickly.

Hi Camille, yet another "vulture" waiting for my Melos! I ordered mine two weeks ago, and did get a "item shipped" notice from ebay last Friday. Have no worries, for they will come!

They just closed down the store because they were going to tribal fest, they didn't want to leave people waiting for stuff that was going to be even more delayed.

Although the pants look nice... they have one of the same *major* shortcomings as Melodias. Based on my measurements and her chart, I should wear a medium... which have a 33 inch inseam and she suggests are for dancers who are 5'7- 5'9. The average woman's height in the US is 5'4"! Why the hell are so many dance wear makers not only not making petite lengths, but not even lengths appropriate for the majority of women??!?!

Yes, I understand that it's possible to shorten pants, but not to lengthen them. But at the same time, in this case, not only would the pants be too long, but even if I shortened them, the slit in the side would be too far down the leg, and they wouldn't look right, and I'd be removing a significant portion of the flared part.

There are a few makers that offer petite lengths, of course. But the options for us shorter dancers are a lot more limited!
