did you get the new dahlal newsletter?
I sure like those basic white costumes up near the top of the page..simple and pretty.
how do you guys feel about some of those wilder costumes with the printed fabric? I saw quite a few that had chiffon or another fabric sewn in to the skirt panels, or sleeves, with prints and patterns on them. yay or nay in your book?

The Oriental Originals Northern Lights caught my eye but the others didn't "speak" to me.

Not that I personally will ever wear them but I do like the "70s" look costumes bedlah with chiffon both printed and plain and loooong leg show. I showed the newsletter to a young dancer friend and she really liked them. Pharaonics seem to have come up with something different but still with their stamp and Eman is less pared down.
For me, I bemoan the lack of dresses..there should be more !!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely love dresses, too. Especially beaded white ones with cutouts. Yum....yes, I think Dahlal used to have a lot more dresses. The Bellas were gorgeousl I'm hanging on to those, because as you say, there seems to be a lack of them around! I was in a competition years ago (did not do well at all, haha) and one of the judges commented "oh, finally a dress," how refreshing, ..... they loved it. I often feel that I dance better in a dress now, and that actually the lines show many movements better. It is usually comfortable, sleek, and elegant. Does Sahar do dresses? They probably cost a fortune......

I just got it today and I am in LOVE with "Golden Innocene" on the bottom right hand side of the front page. It has the V shaped front so my tummy doesn't plop over. Sadly, I don't have an extra 700.00 just laying around to be spent on this lovely piece of work.

I saw some of the new Pharaonics this weekend in Dallas. I bought the Secret Garden and I LOVE it!! Mine is a little different from on the Dahlal site- but they are beautiful in person. The plain panel looks amazing when spinning.
The Chiffon Dreams also looks AMAZING when spinning.

Funny- up until about 4 years ago I wore almost all black all the time. Belly dance has ruined me.
I'm SO not a pink person, but the orange makes it work.

Got the new Dahlal, and my costume that I bought about a year ago is finally in it!! It's the Duchess.
Oh, it looks SO much better in person than it does in the picture!
