getting blood out of chiffon

hi,

need a fix help, got a couple of spots of blood on the chiffon inset of my costumes skirt from a leg shaving wound that would not stop bleeding!

Anyone know a safe way to get blood out of chiffon?

The absolute only way to get blood out of fabric is your own saliva (if it's been sitting for awhile). No kidding. The ph levels in your own saliva is the only thing that can counteract your blood. It sounds like it may have been in there for awhile, lick your finger and rub it out. I hope it works.

If the saliva doesn't work, try cold water, no soap. Warm or hot water denatures the hemoglobin protein and makes it harder to get out.

I've never heard of the saliva one. That's interesting!

Cold water & table salt has worked for me on cotton and poly materials.

Nature's Miracle. it's an enzyme cleaner developed for pet "messes" but i use it on all organic stains.
i'll have to try the saliva trick sometime, except i suffer from dry mouth...

check a little inside a seam to make sure it won't bleach the fabric (you didn't mention what color the chiffon was) but hydrogen peroxide totally gets rid of blood, even after it's dried.

Those are good suggestions, as several years ago, I got blood on the insert of my chiffon pants and decided never to wear them again! Saliva, cold water and table salt-very good suggestions!

'Spray and Wash' or 'Shout' are excellent for stains-- food or blood-- my husband didn't believe it was possible but I manage to keep his nasty chef coats pretty clean without using bleach too often.
