these are much nicer (except that bad bra style in the last one - )

I've really loved that black & white stripey one for some time. The nude & turquoise dress is really pretty too. Unfortunately the prices are still to ridiculous to me that I'd ever buy these but the designs of this group are nice!

Yes, these designs are nice. The styles are nice, too (except for the first and last ones).

ooh, I like the pewter one with the black ruffles down the leg! I've always liked the black and white stripey one too.

I don't generally like flowered costumes, but that purple flower one rocks.

And the stripes are very cool--the top looks like piano keys to me!--but the little plastic-y belt "buckle" is kind of 70s looking to me.

That last bra...well, if ya can't say anything nice...

Yes, the black and white one is cool. I don't like the bra of the last costume either.

It's not a bra... they're boob pouches!

But that pewter one is spectacular!

the prices of these costumes are outrages!!! even for my standard, I spoke to Sahar she wanted $ 700 to $900 usd what a joke there nice but I would rather buy a versace gown for that price. Theres not enough work in them, Think dahal was selling them for $1,200 or more... Sahar had such attitude as well she was really rude to me. O h... well I will stick to my Emans and pharonics happily. :):)

The pink and black one is nice, too. Soraya has the pink and black as a one piece folkloric bedlah with matching bra. I think I still like the black and white one.

I'm sorry to hear that your experience with Sahar was not good. I guess different dancers will have different experiences with teh designers. My experiences with Sahar have been good so I can't complain. Some of Sahars costumes, even if you order them directly from her, will be more expensive than Dahlal's prices.

Yes, Sim's costumes are less expensive. I don't think there are too many designers that can get away with high prices. I know that in addition to Sahar, Hallah has some designs on her web site that go up to $1,400. Eman Zaki has some costumes that run about $1,000 but she doesn't advertise those.
Regarding Sim: it depends on what you want. I would rather pay $1,350 for a Sahar than $700 for a Sim. Its the style and the "look" that I am paying for. Also, many of these designers do use plastic beads and sequences and glass stones, but Sahar (at least for my costumes) uses exclusively Swarovski crystals and she is very generous in her stone work on my costumes plus she makes me accessories that aren't pictured with her costumes. But yes, its true, you can still get less expensive costumes. It just depends on your style.

OH, SIM only use Svarovski-cristals in a high quality. Sim use even much more Svarovskis as Bella! On a Sim You will never see any plasic beads!

On Sim's costumes, does he use sequences as they are usually made of plastic. Also, the fringe in the photo, do you know if its glass or plastic fringe? I guess in a sense, people will pay for whatever it is they want regardless of whether the beads and stones are plastic or glass or Swarovsky crystal or Austrian/Czech crystal or plain glass cyrstal.

I'm sorry, I really don't mean to be pedantic, I've tried to hold out... but a "sequence" is a continuous series, a "sequin" is a shiny disk used to decorate things.

I'm curious, are you trying to say that using sequins in a costume indicates lower quality because they're plastic? Sequins aren't beads either, and I thought most high end quality costumes use sequins. What sounds cheap to me is glueing on crystals, even if they do look pretty. They have a tendancy to pop off of lycra based costumes that stretch. I think it's great that you love Sahar as a designer and I think some of the costumes are pretty, but it's awful to attack the quality of other high end costumes that charge less. If you pay $1400 for a costume, I think what you're paying for mostly is the design, and there's nothing wrong with that if that's what you want to do.

No, using plastic sequence or plastic beads in a costume doesn't necessarily indicate lower quality. It came up as a post because the previous poster was making the point that Sim's costumes are less expensive. Using plastic materials can make a costume less expensive simply because of the fact that glass work and name brand glass work will cause the price of a costume to go up. I do have Emans and Pharaonics and costumes by Hallah that incorporate some plasic beads and sequences but I still consider those high end. The comment was made in the context of Sahar's costumes specifically. Sahar does use some plastic work on her costumes, mine, for whatever reason, don't have any plastic work. I used to think that gluing crystals was cheap. I no longer think that. They don't pop off costumes as one would naturally assume, or at least that is my experience so far and I have put some of Sahars to the test! Owning costumes that have both glue and sew-on, I would say that the changes of them popping off is about equal (even if that sounds counter-intuitive). Regarding Sahar's costumes, definitely you pay for the design as well as the workmanship. I do have some of her costumes in which she has used crystals to create giant sea star and I have another one that has giant stars and shooting stars. It is time consuming to glue each stone one at a time. If the costume is well made, the stones shouldn't fall off. For example, Hallah uses the same kind of adhesive that is used to glue reflectors on the street. Sahar uses a special rhinestone glue that has "give" in it so that it can stretch with the fabric and not pop off. I hope this helps clarify things.

My teacher owns that first pink and yellow costume. It is really a pretty costume in pictures and in person.
