cinching in a skirt

hey ladies
ok. i want to wear a new costume for a performance this weekend. which is find, bra is altered, padded up. so i try on the whole thing.. the skirt is too big! it fit perfectly when i got it, but i must have lost weight! i dont want it to fall and show coin slot or turn while i dance. it has elastic that has the X stitches in it.... is there an easy fix with a safety pin or something i can do? i have no sewing machine, my hand sewing skills are decent...there is no room where the zipper is to cinch it without looking bad..
help?

I'd look into shortening the elastic in the thread casing. If that'll do it, it would be an easy, fast fix. If not, I'd add another elastic with thread casing around parts of it possible.

I've done what Samira is suggesting. It's very easy and works great if there's not a lot you need to take in. All you need to do is rip out the stitching holding the elasitc on one end, pull it tighter, then sew it back in place when you have the right fit.
