I went the way of a bob this year, never had one before and after checking out the "bob hair web page" I was convinced its the way to go. so easy to care for. my hair is at chin level now and even though I like it, it takes some getting used to, I'd recommnrd cutting just a bit longer than chin level to get used to it first.

Also, make sure the style is appropriate for your facial structure. I made that horrible mistake when I got the page boy hair cut. I looked hiddious. Just putting it out there to think about.

I say "go for it"!
Cut mine from below mid-back all the way above my ears in a "little boy" crop!! I did this last summer and have really enjoyed how free it feels. Took a little getting used to, but I found the added drama of highlighting my eyes abd cheekbones more and being able to wear (have visible) gorgeous earrings was totally worth it. Also, most people tell me I look younger...so I guess all that long hair was weighing me down.

My hairdresser convinced me to go with a stacked bob, and it looks fabulous. It's very short in the back, and a little longer up front. It looks great.

Sexy Bob
I will actually turn my head and do a double take when I see a gal with a crisp, clean, Louise Brooks style bob, and I would imagine you could do dreamy things to play it up for dancing too ! I have an asymetrical bob and it is so easy to tease, puff, and color. I got my idea from these websites:

Think carefully about how much hair in your face irritates you. I found the hard way that below shoulders is a must for me.
But sometimes when you get the urge you just have to go with it. Hair grows

Let us know how you go. I've been thinking to get a hair cut but change my mind everytime i see someone with long hair. I just like it so much.
But at the moment mine looks ratty at the ends and that looks horrible.
I think i would get 10cm off the bottom and one layer around the chin line. Not much of a difference....Yep Im a chicken.
Good luck Sumaya.

ooh. i love those angled bobs (sounds like the same thing/similar to what antimony is talking about). if anyone made me cut my hair off today, that's what i'd get. and you have to post pix when you do it - for those of us who live vicariously through other people's haircut bravery! (seriously. i almost always love it when other people chop off their hair - just can't seem to hack my own!)

I hope, You don't be angry....
I hope, You don't be angry after cutting....
I have had long hair up to an age of 20 years, than cut cause of coulouring and damaging the hair. The next years it was impossible to et the hair long. And I was very unlucky the whole time. But I became worry if the hairs become to the shoulders...in this length it's looking realy awfully and You can't do anything with the hair....and I cut it again to my Bob...
Now I have Extensions since one and a half year....and my hair can grow and I'm very lucky becausse I look in the way my soul is....because I'm a long haired girl in my soul.
Best regards
Salima

Don't forget, if you cut off more than 9", you can donate your hair to make a wig for kids with cancer!

If you are thinking of Locks of Love as incentive please check out their Better Business Bureau report. Only 10% of the hair actually goes to kids with alopecia (not cancer), it's mostly a promo. The only hair that has a chance to get their is virgin, not grey. I believe their are other organizations that are more into that angle.
Back to the hair. I've had mine from buzz to waist and finally figured out that as long as it's long enough to put it all up in an easy pony tail I can blissfully enjoy and ignore it.

Hey Gwoofer, thanks for that info, I didn't know that! I had only heard about it and thought it sounded legit...
It's Tuesday, Sumaya, let's see a photo!

Yours is getting shorter and mine is getting longer - I think we're changing into each other!
I want to see a picture too, and can't wait to see it in person next week!

Check out Laura Pyper of HEX on BBC - I love her hair and it looks like it would be very wearable too

Seems like everyone's getting the short hair bug. Here's what I came home looking like today:
Please excuse the red eye and the tired expression. Sitting in a salon chair for 3 hours will do that to ya!

Thanks! Just wait until I actually make an effort to look good. This was taken at the end of a loooong day, so I think I look kinda dorky.
I *am* in love with the hair though. Good luck with yours. I'm sure it'll be adorable!

I've got a "just above the shoulders bob" (which I LOVE) and for both flamenco and bellydance I use clip-on hair. The "hair" is exactly the same color as my hair and fools most everyone into thinking it's really mine. I also use clip in extensions sometimes, too, but I HATE having hair touching my back. I'm a pretty energetic dancer and I get pretty sweaty (lovely, huh?) so having the clip-on (which is similar to a ponytail AND off my back) is GREAT!
I'm not opposed to just wearing my cute bob like it is. In fact, I think it would look really great. However, I have baby fine hair that looks pretty stringy once I begin to sweat....so, just another reason I like my "fake" hair :)
Good luck with your new haircut!
Rebecca
