What veil with a neon lime cossie?
I've got a few ideas, but I'm open to more thoughts.
I am buying this gorgeous costume from Naiyahayal (highly recommended seller, btw). The photo is courtesy of Tanya -- that's her body, not mine, in the photo of course.
So, what veil do you see with this?

I bought this lime green veil to go with my costume, it isn't quite the same shade of green but it looks good. It's really floaty and cheap too!! I think the other two colours shown go well with it.

Artemisia had this in a package from Jes/Akai, and saved it for me
It's actually much more neon in real life ;-)

I love Lime green and the right shade of purple! A purple veil would be nice for contrast. Maybe even black?? Otherwise yellow would be pretty too.

Maybe I'm boring but I'd say lime green with a little gold crinkled in. Or lime green with a little emerald green crinkled in.
I like monochromatic color palettes, especially with the sleek modern Egyptian costumes.

Lauren, I put a couple of lime veil pics in my personal gallery. Can't remember how to put them in my post, and I'm late for work.

I'm such a sucker for green costumes, I love that shade. I think anything contrasting would look great with it. How 'bout a multi-color veil with shades of lime and fuchsia?
Regards
Priscilla

Woa how weird... I have a lime green costume (or at least I thought I did) that's a totally different shade than that one! I use a gorgeous bright red veil with it and it looks stunning! Looking at the color of the costume there *checking the photo one more time* I think a fuschia veil would be nice. Just don't pick a washed out color for a veil because next to that costume it would just fade into the background. Makes me want to do a black light performance just thinking about it...
Cheerfully yours,

I liked black with this one -- there were a couple of other costumes sold recently that were a combination of green & black -- they looked great.
I also have lime green with pink costume -- those colors work together, too.
Ask Jes'! Have you checked her Akai site lately -- maybe she has some half circs that would work.

hmmm... maybe a dark green. i would go with a bright blue. shadiyah has a costume that the main color is lime green and the inserts are royal blue. the effect is stunning.. i think the veil she used was white with blue edging.. or the other way around. i think the blue contrast is stunning.

ooh. that's a great costume... i think a multi-color veil in shades of bright green, blue and purple would rock with it. and not like you can overpower lime green!

Fuchsia! I have a green costume (the one in my avatar) and I was recommended a pink veil for it. (Thanks Raqs Habibi gals!) It looks so good!

Hi Lauren, I would do an iridescent organza that is basically white but flashes gold, pink and lime - the fabric isn't all that expensive and has enough body to "float" yet isn't all tissue lame-ish foil looking. This fabric comes in all sorts of iridescent colors - take at least the gauntlets with you so you can check which color.
If you can't find iridescent organza, then I'd go with a gold metallic meshy kind of veil to pick up all that wonderful gold trim on the cossie. It's gorgeous; I love that lime color and you are going to look fabu in it!

I would make a contrast with either a white veil, or with a veil that has a contrasting colour + a little lime green in it
I have this veil ( From Jes) that goes with one of my lime green costume:

I tried to e-mail Jes, but the addy I had for her must've been an old one, or she's been crazy busy. I'm watching her store like a hawk on e-bay, though. I love the brilliant Akai color combos, I would trust Jes to put together more than two tones on a veil, but I can't think what they'd be!
I love the idea of a rectangular veil that's lime green with a touch of fuschia/berry at the edge (maybe with a narrow white edge separating the two colors?) Or all berry with a lime edge?
Or two half-circles with lime in the center and ??? and then purple/fuschia on the edge???
Blue is a nice cool option I hadn't thought of. And the organza sounds pretty, but I'm pretty much locked into my silk vision right now. Taking the gauntlet along to the fabric store & looking at it with various colors is a brilliant idea!
Guess I should get out the veils I have and try it with them... I've got some of the colors mentioned above.
Bea's veil looks cool and fresh and lovely, but I think I'm looking for a more vibrant effect this time around.
