new beautiful full sized Dahlal model
Does anyone know who Dahlal's new, dark haired, full sized model is? She is so beautiful! Is she a dancer?
I just had to ask. She isn't by chance Dahlal's main models sister is she? They look so much alike, they have to be related. I wish the costumes looked half as good on me as they do on these ladies. Oh well, maybe next lifetime.
thanks!

She's very pretty but I wouldn't call her full-size.

I wrote to Bhuz to compliment them on her. I was so happy that they were a) getting more upsized costumes and b) using a hot model for them.
Actually, it would seem that her measurements are full-size (they told me her measurements because I said that I really liked seeing her as I thought we were the same size, and I could imagine those costumes on me.). Her measurements sounded large, but it is one of those cases where they mean nothing. She is obviously in very good shape - you could see her muscles in her legs and abs. Everything just looked really firm - she is blessed with a beautiful hourglass. If she is storing fat anywhere, it must be under the costume!

I'm guessing she is 5'6" or so and a size 10-ish? Is this really "full-figured"?? So, St. Louis ladies, who is she? Is she a dancer?
I think Dahlal deserves accolades for having curvy models in general. Dahlal's other models are like 5'0" and size 6 or less -- petite but very curvy. You might think that's very small, but none of them are anywhere close to "skinny". And just consider that most fashion supermodels are a size 6 (or less) but would be closer to 6' tall. So size 6 and 5' tall is much curvier and realistically proportioned than what we see in the fashion industry.

heh
I was scratching my head thinking, "Dahlal has a full figured model with dark hair? really?" Size 10? yeah right....hardly full figured (and I'm being defensive as that's my size! I was full figured 15 pounds and a size and a half ago, not now! ).
BTW which costume is she modeling? I don't see anyone new except a very slender woman with dark hair and then the usual other dancers.

This is what Dahlal told me...
For your information, she's a size 16-18 and is about 5'10".
For my opinion, I can see both sides of it. As a tall girl with an hourglass figure, I can barely fit into your standard bedlah. Most of the ones sold on here are too small for me. There are even some companies that want me to pay extra for my size. So I do like having this tall, curvaceous muscular model to look at - as it is a pretty good indicator of how I'd look in a costume. It's also nice to see it held up as beautiful. Before this, I only had Xena as my example. :-)
However, for the other type of plus-sized (say, size 16-18 and 5'2), their previous model was probably a more accurate depiction and they might not feel that the new model is a real plus size.

You're right. I'm that size and to me, this new model is beautiful but doesn't represent my full figure as the other one did.

Size 10 has been the smallest size i've ever been! even during my hottie years .But then is fair to say that during younger years than actually i've been larger, too .Now no matter how much i exercise or how little or healthy i eat i never go bellow a size 12....*sigh*

Is this the model you all are talking about. I think she has a lovely figure and she's new to me.

aha! there she is - she's very pretty and in great condition as someone noted above. I suppose it's like people have been saying in the dieting group - sizes and numbers are fairly meaningless - it's all about how you carry it.
I like several of those Hanan costumes she's modeling too.

Good Lord - I'd take that version of "plus sized" any day of the week! She's a knockout! And why oh why couldn't I be blessed with flat abs like hers.... sigh.

sigh
she looks pretty young so I'm consoling myself with the fact that gravity hasn't wreaked its havoc yet and that's the reason I'm sure it's not because she works out or anything silly like that

I believe the blonde plus size model they use seems to look more "plus" because she has larger breasts and more of an hourglass shape. This new dark haired gal has more of a "boy figure." Note the measurements on the costumes she is modelling. B and C cups, underbust 39-40, hip 40. She has an athletic, androgenous figure type, tall, large boned, lovely face. But at 5'10" with a 40" hip I wouldn't call that plus size.
Now, the blonde. Just for comparison. I own the very same black Madame Abla dress she is wearing at the Dahlal website. She wears some bra size as I do according to Dahlal staff (40 DD). I am 5'7 (5'8" in shoes) and the dress is long on me. I have 42" hips and the dress is big on my hips. I wear a size 16 dress.
I can see the dark-haired model wearing a 16 but because of her height and bone structure, not chubbiness.

Thing is - I wonder if the models actually fit into what they are trying on. She was also modeling (and looking fabulous in) something with the measurements of 44 for the hips with a 40 inch top (or something with a big difference like that). I know they have pics from all sides but that doesn't mean it's not pinned alll different ways to Sunday. I was trying to figure that out earlier today (whether the models actually fit into all the costumes). I mean, if she wears a 16/18, her hips are not 40! I'm a 10 with 40 inch hips (44 if you count the ass!).
I'ts like when you see ads for shampoo. Typically they have their hair styled in such a way that the bulk of the hair is towards the camera and visible.

Well for comparison purposes I wear a size 16 and have 40" upper hip, 42" lower hip and weigh over 200 lbs. Hardly any waist (38") and am 38" under the bust. A size 12 pants or skirt fits my hips but won't close at the waist. Most of my dress pants and skirts are size 14 for that reason. I wear size medium jazz or yoga pants and 1X tops.

This all goes to show that we can have the same measurements and still not have the costume fit the same. It's strange how that works.
I'm 5'6" I weigh 173 pounds, I wear a 38D bra, 12 pants, my hips are 43 around my *ss and my waist is 29/30. I look pretty good but I do have a muffin top so I wear dresses instead of straight across the hip belts that let my stomach plunge over. I look for the vet shaped belts but rarely they are large enough for me. Someone needs to design costumes specifically for muffin tops. I know I'm not the only who would jump on them.
