My zills. None of them. I'd never sell any of my zills. I'd rather sell a costume.

Regards
Priscilla

That's so sweet. We have something in common. My hubby proposed to me at a bellydance show hosted by the lovely Kimahri, who gave ring approval . There was a link to the video on the old bhuz, can't find it right now.

I don't think I could ever sell my yummy green costume I got from Nadirah. It is my fav and so sparkly and unique.

I don't think I'll ever be able to part with my newest costume. I was in Izmir, Turkey 3 weeks ago and met a costume maker. She took me to her shop and after tons of apple chai and trying on we came to the realization that she had nothing that would fit my 38DD bust. I was about to give up my hope of buying a new costume when she made a phone call, started taking measurements and showing me material. Within 15 minutes she sketched out a traditional turkish costume, we had agreed on a price, had a staff of 4 people in her shop, and they were making my costume. Two days later I went back for a final fitting and more chai (cinnamon this time). I now have a beautiful red costume, which I paid less than $200 for, that is custom made just for me! Oh yeah, the disigner only spoke Turkish & French. I only know about 8 words in each language!!! I'll post pictures soon!

I remember that!! I showed it to my fiance right after he proposed - kind of bursted his bubble, though. He thought he was the only bellydancer's boyfriend to think of the idea!

I misses this thread while I was traveling.

My vintage gold coin bedlah and my vintage cost less bedlah. I think it's time i admit that I am an AmCab girl at heart. . .

My shopping bag full of videos from Ibrahim Farrah's workshops....

Special costumes that have been made for me, one by a friend who was a costume-maker and one by my hubby, who even hand-beaded the fringe! (Can't get my girls into either costume now... )

My favorite CD of all time: Abdel Halim Hafez singing Kariat al-Fingan. Spent a long time with a tutor figuring out all the words, which were written by Lebanese poet Nizar Qabbani. Such a beautiful song.

Well, I guess I would have to add Bhuz to this list!! I'm addicted and can't part with it!

My mum bought me a beautiful, long green coin belt. It is long at the back and sides and ties at the front, with gold coins. It's quiet, too!! It is gorgeous, and I could never, ever part with it, even if all the coins fall off.

My red and black Madame Abla dress. It found me at a workshop, and fit like a glove the moment I put it on. I *love* it, and it's so me.

I wouldn't get rid of the costumes that I made, that fit me well. Anything I have purchased that I realized didn't look good on me after a picture, performence, etc. I can part with it.

BTW, the dress is really nice.

My absolute favorite is my Domba belt. It's assuit with real coins and some kuchi dangles. My bra would come in after that. If a fire broke out, I'd grab the belt in one hand and the bra in the other. The bra I made. I understand why costumers charge so much for coin bras. They are a bitch to make. Mine is still a work in progress.

And, I'm quite fond of my banjara collection - I have a few unique cholis that fit me perfectly (after many hours of painstakingly reworking them). These won't go anywhere, either.

The two things I will not part with are my first ever "pro-costume purchase"... a beautiful red two-piece with rhinestone and pearl beading. I was told it was an Abla but who knows. I did try to sell it once but no takers, and lucky me! I'll probably be buried with it.
The other is a belt that was made for me out of a vintage trapeze costume found in Paris. It's the most unusual thing I've ever seen and blinged out with crystals. I wish it had a costume to go with but on the other hand it goes with everything...
