Costume addicted - what should I do?
Oh this is such a cruel world!
A costume that I love just got offered to me, hardly worn, my sizes reasonable price, a color I don't have in my closet...
It's the same as this one
http://www.dahlal.com/ctl/showcostum...M_close_lg.jpg
http://www.dahlal.com/ctl/showcostum...3M_back_lg.jpg
but as neckholder with pretty wide straps and and without the cross-strap at the bra. Same color mint-green with a touch of purple. It was a pretty hard desicion for me between this style and the Tempest I just bought and now this one has to cross my way!
Just that I have too many costumes in my closet + I could use the money better for something else + I won't be able to wear this for the next 6 month.
But when will a opportunity like this come again?
Should I buy or let it pass? Just get it to hang another costume into my totally overcrowded closet? but I'm dying to buy this one!

Is there something else you could let go of to make room for it? Then you wouldn't feel guilty about it?
I really is lovely...

I wouldn't want to part with my remaining Bellas as I first want to give it a try wether I'll fit into them again when coming back to normal sizes. And the both Amiras I just bought in march and april already looking for something that is a bit larger and more adjustable than a Bella for the time after pregnancy.
I have two of my selfmades I think about letting go as for both it will take pretty long until I will fit into that bras again (if ever) but selfmades don't sell well. I have them up on another board for best offer but the one offer I got till now for the red wouldn't even cover the material costs and for the pants costume I didn't even get offers
I have pics of them both up in my profile.

Why spend an X amount of money on something you won't be able to wear for HALF A YEAR!!!!! It will come back around eventually. That is money down the drain and like you said you could use your money for other things.
Good luck!!!

I LOVE your purple and pink self-made! I can't believe you made that...it looks like a Bella! I'm so inspired!
If you ever want to sell that one....let me know!

Oh sorry, I have there a galerie of my selfmades from another tread as well, they are not all for sale.
The black one is already gone long time ago and the yellow is one of the very few costumes which fitted me even in 20th week of pregnancy so I expect I will need this one as well for the way back to normal.
I calculated about 350 Euro for the pants one as it was pretty expensive (106 Swarovskis, pants from Bella, high end stretch velvet...) and this is just about what I spended on the materials.
Damn, making costumes it an expensive hobby. I definitively would have payed much more if I had made this one all by Bella or SIM but when you calculated something wrong (like I did in this case with the bra-size) the resale-value of a selfmade even in as good as new condition hardly covers the materials.

OK, so the pants are available and which other one? Your work is amazing, I've admired it for some time. I'd love to have a Sha-ri original!

Ah some sensible words!
My hubby said about the same when I asked him about it but told me in the same sentence he couldn't blame me if I decide to buy it anyway as he himself is the king of spending money spontaniously.

The red one: http://www.bhuz.com/file/pic/gallery/1640.jpg
I used the same bra-base on this as on the pants one. Well, I sewed them parallel and then had the same problem on both, I finished it, adjusted it and found the bra to be one cup too small on me

How much for the red one?

Shari, there's always another costume. One more costume won't make you any happier. Learning to master our own desires -- to say 'no' to ourselves gently when 'yes' isn't practical -- can go a long way toward making us happier people, though.
Remember, you were perfectly happy before this one was offered to you, and in another few months you will have forgotten all about it.
Let this one go. Give someone else the gift of a chance at it.
ETA: Gah! sorry, I sound like a mom and a yoga teacher, don't I????

Well, I think the best piece of advice is to not buy it especially because you know you won't wear it for the next six months. Its just not logical and rational to buy something only to put in your closet for the next six months.
But unfortunately, as dancers we are guided by our emotions and your emotions tell you to buy now! If you can afford it, I would say go ahead and buy it. If you can't afford it, then wait because you know that you can ask Amira to make it for you when you are ready to wear it again after six months.
If you do sell some of your old costumes, then definitely go ahead and buy it since you will have the extra money from your old costumes.

So I count
1 time "go for it"
2 times "let it pass" and
3 times "costume for costume - sell something to buy this one"
LOL just as undetermined as myself.
Christina, ordering it from Amira in 6 month or so is a good point. I planned on ordering from her as soon as it makes any sense again (back in business and to normal sizes) anyway.
*OHMMMMMMMM*
*Everything is going to be alright. This is not a Bella which aren't made dozens of times. I can buy it whenever I wish. I don't need to buy this particular one. Good things come to those who wait.*
*OHMMMMMMM*
