I like the color of the orange one, but they overdid the frills. Id only wear the brown one as is, or the maroon one, if the top looked better on me than it does on the model (I *seriously* doubt it would tho). I think Id like the purple one better if they bow on the bra was tied in the back. The one on the hip is enough bow for the front. And all of this is just my opinion. Im not interested in a flame war ;)
Thanks for sharing! This is always fun. :)

I was actually thinking that the orange one was a bit too frilly, too. I like the purple one, its growing on me! I don't think I could wear the bra style of the burgondy or pink one though.

I really like the striped costume but I already have three black & white costumes so it may be too redunant for me! I like the bow costume, if it were me, I'd want more bows on it!

Why do these look home made?
Seriously - when I grow up and become a 'real' belly dancer and not just a student, am I expected to pay hundreds and hundres for a look that I could do myself JUST for the label? How many dancers apply this to the every day clothes they wear. Not sure I could ever be a label whore...I've just been frugal all my life.
Maybe it's just the idea in my head that when you drop many hundreds to wear a 'professional' belly dance costume, there should be more to it and at least look sturdy...The pink just looks thrown together from existing shorts and left over fabric???

I love:
- the b/w stripey, it's fun
- the chocolate & turquoise, for the colours
- the purple with the bows (though personally I'd put the top bow on the left of the bra, so the two bows are on different sides of the body, to create greater visual interest)
I'm really not keen on:
- the pink & burgundy, mainly because the tops seem unflattering to pretty much everyone
- the red/coral, mainly because the cut outs are too huge and unsubtle
- the orange, for the over-reliance on frills- it would be retrievable, but I'd want to loose about half of the ruffles.
In general (and this is very much a matter of personal taste) I don't like those half-gauntlets that sit on your elbow. Either make it a cuff for the wrist, or an armband for the upper arm, or a full gauntlet from wrist to above the elbow, but don't mince around as though you ran out of fabric, making something that is neither one nor the other!

I love the B&W one and the purple bow one. I DO wish they had more ornamentation on them though.
I like something to shake

I'm not sure I would say they look homemade, but the pink one is too minimal for my taste. I do have a black mini skirt version of the pink one. But Sahar put about 12 stars on the bra and about 6-8 stars on the skirt and the she made a regular style bra not the style bra you see on the pink model. Plus she littered both bra and skirt with hundreds of swarovsky crystals.

I agree with you, I love the black and white one and the purple bow one.
I'm not keen on the pink one cuz I don't care for the style of the bra. I have seen this one in black. I am also not keen on the burgondy one cuz I don't like burgondy and I don't like the style of the bra. I don't like the red one cuz she uses some plastic bead work on that one. I like it when she keeps the beadwork a little more minimalist then she tends to stick with crystals. I think the orange one has too many frills. If it were me, I would remove the frills down the abodmen.

I know, I feel your pain... I love the black and white one but I already have three black & white costumes (a Pharaonics one piece dress, a two piece Sahar and a two piece Hallah) I am not sure I can justify a 4th black/white one. I do like the purple one with all the bows! Which one do you like?

Did anyone notice the cool black and white print Marilyn Monroe spandex in the background of the model wearing the turquoise and brown costume? That's my costume that she was working on! Can't wait to get it.

I for one don't expect you to do any such thing. I think you should spend your money on whichever costumes *you* think are the prettiest ones.
Sahar is a top designer label, very 'couture' in that her designs are cutting edge and she is 'worn' by the top dancers in Cairo.
Just like in daily fashion, there are those for whom this matters (and can afford it) and those for whom it doesn't.

So maybe some of those costumes will be more decorated when someone orders one?
Some of those pics just gave me the Emporers-New-Clothes connotation in my head...

I think her off the rack costumes cost about $700-$800. I don't if she would put more work on a custom order, if you ask for it and you are willing to pay more than she will. All of my Sahar's cost me between $1200 to $2350. I get a lot of beadwork/crystal work done on my costumes and I get the accessories, but then again, I pay a lot more for all this. If I were to order the pink costume I would ask for more star pins; some crystal work and a head band and an ankle band and for the additional work, you will get quoted accordingly. So to answer your question, if want a custom order with additional work be willing to pay extra for it.

The pink one is glitter dot. The only cyrstal on the entire costume is the star pin on the model's hip. I think I was referring to the coral costume with the big cut out on the hip. It appears that she is using a combination of crystals and plastic bead work on that one.
