Ok ladies tell me all you know
I think in going to order a custom costume from bella and I have questions
1. How long does it take?
2. are the measurements usually accurate?
3. Is it all down or 1/2?
4. after I have paid how long till i have to send the other 1/2 (if i pay half)?
5. Should I call or just e mail?
6. Anyother tips when dealing with her?

I think this has been discussed in length before. Maybe you want to check the old threads first?

1.It takes anywhere from 2-6 months. I have heard cases of it being longer but haven't experienced that myself.
2. My measurements have been accurate but I have heard others have not. Send them measurements in cm.
3. Balance is due before they will ship it.
4. I think that varies depending how many you order at once.
5. Email is free.
6. Keep it simple. Don't have tons of fancy or confusing requests.
I love Bella and they have always been wonderful to me. I often hear of people who can't get a response from them but I have had good luck. I saw here on bhuz once that someone said you don't pick Bella, Bella picks you.

so far all of my custom orders from bella have taken about 3 months. i deal with her via email. sometimes it may take a bit for her to respond, but she has always responded to me. i gave her my measurements both in inches and in cm. mine fit perfectly. i paid the full balance before she would ship it. it is best that way the fees on international transfers are not cheap!
good luck!

I've only ordered once and it was just about 8 weeks until I had the costume. No down payment was required, I just wired the full amount once they told me it was ready. Give your measurements in centimeters (someone said that already) and explain your request as simply and clearly as you can (style, color, price). I submitted my order on the contact form of the website because I gave up trying to get a password or an email back from them.

Josiane - I tried for months to get a password and never did, either. What I ended up doing was submitting my order on their contact form on the website. I never heard anything back but then 2 months later I got an email saying the costume was ready! So if you know what you want, maybe you could try that. Just make sure you tell them how much you're looking to spend.

I would like to custom order a Bella too. Somebody once told me that she didn't do custom orders, which didn't make sense to me, but since I could also never get a password for her site, I just sort of gave up. If you can't get on her site though, how do you know what styles are available to order and how much they cost?
I wonder how risky it would be just to email with measurements, a color and a budget and see what comes?

I actually submitted my measurements in inches and US bra size. Everything came out perfectly! I let her know the style and colors that I like and about 2 months later it was ready for me. If you email her she'll create a costume! I don't know if it helps, but I like to compliment her work and let her know when I received it, etc. Rhabtour, it's not risky to send her an email and see what comes. That's exactly what i did; I was nervous about it b/c I always see the exact style with dahlal, etc. but it came out much better than I expected.
I've been on her site before and you're not missing much by not having password. The costumes go quick and selection is small. If you see a costume you like (on other dancer or whatever) send her the picture and she'll make something similar!

I think she's been incredibly busy lately. I have two that she's making for me, and I ordered them about 3 months ago and have yet to receive that magical email that I live for telling me I owe her $1400 USD.
Please, Bella. If you can hear me, Summer is dying for her costumes! It's getting harder to sleep at night. I wake up to what I think is the sound of high quality chiffon and glass fringe. I get a ghostly whiff of that new Bella smell (faintly of cigarettes) and just as soon as it comes, it's gone. My pulse quickens when I see a yellow box or the DSL truck. I'm a wreck. Please!

So a number of you have said to include a ballpark dollar amount... What do those price points correspond to?
What can you expect for $500? for $800?

Bella is as legendary for it unique approach to customer service, as well as the costumes. I almost think some of her diva attitude transmits itself to the wearer, perhaps it's why my friends all feel so fabulous while wearing them...

I don't know for sure what the $500 range would be - maybe the bra and belt sets with a skirt and accessories, just guessing. I remember reading on here a while back that it might have something to do with the cut-outs and the number of crystals but I don't know for sure. Here is what I got for $750

I just ordered a bra, belt set with a full chiffon skirt and was quoted 750.00. The prices sometimes don't seem to have any consistency. I wouldn't cound on the cut out /crystal theory. Aazura and I recently both got costumes and paid the same price. Hers has huge cut outs and there is almost 100 crystals on the belt alone. Mine has about 25 crystals on the whole set and a few small cut outs here and there. Kina also told me that the costume from Bella she paid the most for had the least amount of crystals too. So I am still clueless on the price structure!! I always just assume whatever I ask for it is going to be in the 700+ range.

I don't get it about the Bella price structure as well.
The last costume I bought from them was a tribaret style one:

It has some decent cutouts (nothing extravagant) 14 small rhinestones on it, 4 large tribal ornaments and some smaller ones with coins. Double-layered skirt and the high-quality stretch velvet. The fringes are with patterns from different beads and quite fancy but the price on the tag was 930 USD!
There was a very similar one in style but much more elaborated and with lots of rhinestones which was "only" 1000 USD (but didn't fit me) so I argued a bit that when that compared to that one the one I want doesn't look like 930USD at all and got quoted o.k. then 780 USD.
Well I find it was still pretty expensive but there was hardly nothing to find in their shop less then 700 USD 8(

I just put in an order for three costumes from Bella. I sent three pictures from Sandra's website as examples of the styles I wanted, and then told them the sorts of colors I was looking for. I said I wanted to spend about $2000; they countered with $2350, on the grounds that I wouldn't get as many stones/rhinestones as in the pictures if I only paid $2000. So in this case, at least, stones were the primary indicator of cost.
Bella was very prompt about returning emails, even on weekends and at odd hours.
