An Egyptian lady I know said when she and her son George visited Egypt, the "country people" couldn't say his name and kept calling him Gorg, with hard Gs.

My friend Gilma, from El Salvador used to crack me up with her y's and j's.
Her husband, from the Middle East would tease her mercilessly about her way of saying yogurt ("JOE-gurt) and yacht ("jockcht"). She was really cool about it.
And where I grew up (Daly City, CA), there are many people native to the Philppines who mistakes p's and f's and v's and b's. So, things cost "porty-pibe" dollars ($45), and this gift is "por" you, not for you. That accent warms the cockles of my little heart.

LMAO, I used to speak textbook perfect Spanish until I worked in the inner city Latino neighborhood. Now I speak slang Spanish, and make up my own words for things when I dont know the real word, like a good Mexican. To park your car is no longer estacionar, but parkear, etc.
My husband Joe worked with a Mexican man named Noey, and Noey would say, "they just don't know me Yo," for they just don't know me, Joe. I think its totally endearing. Now I get the b's, v's and p's mixed up, and cant spell. For example is it cabron or cavron? bendeho o pendeho? It all sounds similar to me. (Interesting how the only examples I could come up with are swear words)

Of course they wont spell the name of their fellow partner who has 36 vowels back to back.

Hahaha, that is so true. I love it.

I overheard someone ordering a pizza delivery once: "extra crisby, no bork." Tee hee! But since I was just massacring Arabic while trying to speak to folks in Cairo, they probably have funny stories about me too!

Sumaya, the correct words are:"cabron" and "pendejo". The use of an "h" the way you mention is only used in Portuguese language.

it is really like our Peppina says in her gildedserpent article Easter in Cairo:
"Come to think of it that is one of the things that has changed: these days there isn't really that much to pull down anymore, is there? "
