What's she wearing there, a dustcloth around one hip????? The whole costume has that three-sizes-too-small look.
I like the design, though -- the open hip, the wrapped rhinestones(?) around the hips that hold it on.
If the bra cups were bigger and there was a ton of chiffon added to the bottom, I'd love it!

hmmmm....well, costuming like that surely isn't helping with any kind of "respectability"...but, then, I don't think Dina was/is particularly concerned with that anyway.
Is the mini-skirt thing in BD a cross over from Salsa dresses by the way?

I'm with Lauren: 20 more inches of skirt and I'd love the costume!

I didn't even raise an eyebrow!
I think it just shows I've been around too long to be shocked anymore!!
Must be an old vid as her boobs look about half the size they are now. I think they are a nice size for her frame in that vid.

Why is it that I find I am f-a-r less shocked by Dina than the other clip where the dancer looks like she has just forgotten her skirt...could it be something to do with class?
However risque Dina gets she somehow avoids "slutty"...daring yes but never tacky...well not to my eyes anyway!

It's actually not that bad, there's at least two inches of fabric below her bum which fits very tight underneath it and keeps the privates private. Of course, *I* wouldn't wear for BD. When I'm dancing I don't like to have to worry about how much I can or can't open my legs, how far I can bend over, etc.
But here we have the double standard again, ballroom and lyrical dancers can show their dance briefs all they want and no one says anything, even though they leave a lot less to the imagination.

I'm sorry, Lizajuk, I know you're a big fan, but I keep looking for the pantyline on Dina, whereas at least we know the other girl has her crotch covered 'cos you can see the panties. I dunno, those big hip circles with the coy look and the occasional tug at the bottom of the skirt don't exactly draw attention to the dancing, to me. Great bod' ... but that's the focus.

Actually no, I'm not that big a fan..I'm a Randa woman but I do think Dina is a queen-bee of bellydance who made everyone think about the dance all over again and I do sometimes find her over sexiness a turn off from her lovely taut moves. But I am assured that she does wear knickers even if she is very cheeky. no double entendre here .
The problem with the other costume is that it looks like a standard bedlah with long fringe and aught to have a skirt with it whereas Dina's ( and I'd rather have her in a long skirt anyday) looks like one of her typical "different" costume and does look complete if skimpy.

exactly
You said it way more diplomatically than I would have...and I agree with you 100%. I would like for people to think of belly dance more respectfully and I don't feel like she encourages that because of the adventurous costuming.
*shrug* I admire her dancing but it gets lost in the drama of attire and schtick IMO

Gather your stones and kindling, because...
I love it. She looks beautiful, and I love her dancing. She looks so sexy in that video and I think Dina can get away with it. She's a huge star and that's her signature.
I wish I had those long legs. She looks like a woman should look--soft and curvaceous--not like some hardbody/buns-of-steel lady. I love it love it love it.

I'm throwing a soft fur covered rock your way!
She ain't my cuppa but I can appreciate why people love her.
(BTW, just because I don't think you oughta be showing people all the way to Christmas in your costuming doesn't mean I don't think she has a lovely figure)

I think if I saw that get-up on most people, I'd say, "Hells no!" but on Dina, it's good. She has that lazy/sexy thing down. If she did a bunch of bouncy hoppy things in that it would be awful, but with her style of dance, I think it works. It's totally risque, but I like it.
Suhaila has some of that too, she can wear a thing with a bunch of straps that barely cover anything, but she's Suhaila and she can do whatever moves her.
People will still go... but they have the street cred to do it.

Dina's hot. Id kill for her figure. I like the costume *on her*, it's SO Dina. I'd buy it in a second if it was a long skirt. Love the style.
I even lover her in the one where you can totally see....well, see for yourself...hold on lemme find the video...
