Should I sell it?
Ok so my hubby baught me my first costume, but i have lost weight in the hips and it is loose, not to mention i have never been able to dance well in it, I usually dance all over the place. I have a hard time moving in the skirt. He said i can sell it but with that puppy dog look. What Should I do? I have only worn it 4 times maybe 5 It is the blue one on the home page... check out the pics at

Don't sell it. There will be more $$$ somewhere along the way, butyou can't replace that he bought it for you.

OMG, it's beautiful! I'd have a difficult time parting with it too.

Voice of practical brokeness here: keep it for a year stored away. If you don't miss it, sell. If you miss it, keep it.
Also? After that year the hubby will have forgotten all about it.

I would sell it. It's beautiful and you could fetch a good price for it and then get something you really want.
I don't believe in holding on to costumes for sentimental value!

Aw....I don't know if I could ever sell a costume my boyfriend bought for me. But then again, if you're not wearing it, it's kind of a waste. So you should probably sell it and use that money to go directly into a new costume. Maybe have him help pick it out. That way, the investment he made is still there, just not in its original form because you've upgraded.

I think this is a nice compromise. Get hubby in on the upgrade!

You mentioned that you lost weight and it doesn't fit anymore. Can you get it altered to fit you? If that it too much time, trouble and money, then I would sell it. You won't wear it as long as it doesn't fit you well. Also, you mentioned that you don't feel you dance comfortably in the costume. If you are not comfortable, then you are not going to wear it. And you have only worn it about four or five times, so its probably still in good condition and can command a high price (for used costumes). I would go ahead and sell it and take that money and buy another one that fits better that you feel more comfortable in.

Well, it's a tough choice because of the sentimental value, but if it doesn't fit and can't be altered to fit, then you don't really have a choice - lest it sit in a box for the rest of its days. Something I'm sure he wouldn't want.
If it were me, I'd do my darnest to alter it to fit - perhaps even change the skirt . I'm not sure if this is a bra/skirt combo or bedlah, but if it's a skirt combo it looks like it could be easily enough turned into a bedlah. Pair with an LRose set and voila - new, more comfortable costume.
Anyhow, if none of those options worked for me, I'd sell it and get him in on the replacement decision.

I totally agree! How special to have a man that is so supportive to have purchased you such a beautiful costume! I like the idea of possibly changing the skirt. It is amazing what wonders can be worked by redesigning a costume a bit.
To me you just can't put a price on sentimental value.
