Who designed this costume?
I should be looking at her dancing, because she is amazing. Instead I am drooling over her costume. Does anybody have an idea who is the designer?

Wow, she's yummy! Her techniqe looks very modern-cairo for a Turkish dancer. I really enjoyed her.
Hmmm, of the designers I'm familiar with, this looks *most* like a Sahar from about 2000-2002. The simplicity, bra with almost no visible means of support except a thin string of rhinestones, the wonderful swoooosh of the skirt, so beautifully cut, all say Sahar to me. And, of course, the naughty cutout over the hip.
But it could also be a designer I'm completely unfamiliar with, of course. (I think it's very sad that I can almost pinpoint the year. I swear I don't know Diane Von Furstenburg or whoever from a hole in the ground in my daily life!)

It's a Bella.
I know it sounds weird as this is absolutely not looking like one but I know the dancer, saw her even perform in this costume at the restaurant. When you can get a very close look at it, you can see the typical beadwork of Bella on the bra-straps and edges of the bra and skirt, typical Bella bra and a built-in belt that they usually use on costumes like this (I saw some more in that style but they are VERY rare).
Bella sometimes does costumes in (for them) pretty unusal styles when you ask for something like that and this dancer has lots of special-mades Bellas.
Plus she writes the designers of the costumes on her webpage and this is signed as Bella.

If you look on her website on the "festival page" it appears again. It looks from one view to be Egyptian but I suspect looking at the sparkly and dainty drapes it's Turkish made. I agree with Sha-ri
I note she says that although she was born in Turkey she dances Egyptian style..very nicely.

Wow, OK, I eat my words. Bella would have been one of the last designers I would have named.
Back to costume snob school with me!

pretty dancing, pretty dancer, and really pretty costume!
And I would never have guessed Bella because the skirt on this one is so clean and simple not foo-foo.

I wouldn't have guessed it either from watching the clip, you only get a clue when having a pretty close look at it that it looks more like a turkish costume from the way the bra and beltbase are made.
I always find it kind of funny when Bella is copying egyptian style costumes.
They get copied by egyptian designers but when you ask for a special style they copy egyptian styles as well
The last time I was in Istanbul they had a Bella-Version of the Helmy ( http://www.dahlal.com/ctl/showcostum...1_close_lg.jpg) costume there with those flower-motives in different colors on net - clearly looking like the Amira but in a Bella-ish way.

I guess now looking at the video and pictures I see it. I asked Bella once to make the costume look like one of the Egyptian costumes and it just wasn't right. But I would definitely order something like that.
Thanks for the info on the dancer, she is one of my favorites now.

ohhhhhh i'm drooling too, about everything in that clip!
are all the sparkly little drapey bits rhinestones? i adore them.
sssiiiggghhhhh, if i am still bedlah-worthy after baby 2 gets here and if i ever have zillions of dollars to burn, i want one just like this, too! right down to the only audacious thigh cut-out i've ever loved, or thought i might possibly be able to pull off. (the part when she flips the side of her skirt over the cut-out with that saucy look on her face? so cute!!!)
