If bellydance costumers designed shoes...

Amira El Kattan/Pharonics of Egypt: Jewel-encrusted

Madame Abla: Sturdy, yet sexy!

Sim Moda Evi: Bling it out!

Sahar Okasha: Bare, with a touch of bling.

Hallah Moustafa: Funky fresh

Eman Zaki: Minimalist elegance!

Our own Sarah Skinner: The Mata Hari model

I don't know who designs these, but I nominate Suhaila to wear them!

Hannan: It's all about the fabric, baby!

THTX, nothing like eating ice cream out of the box and taking a little tour through Zappos 'couture' collection to lift your spirits when you're down!

i love browsing zappos couture! which is a laugh, since if i ever pay over $50 for a pair of shoes, i am amazed at my own bigspendiness, hahah!

gimme the sims.

(although - would like to see the costume and the performance to go with the voldemort shoes!)

Well, I am right now wearing the first pair of REALLY expensive shoes I ever bought, about 15 years ago. You can say that about 300 $ is a lot of money - but hey, they last a long time, no matter if you change your dress size!

Oh, and they are definitely Harry Potter material - think Snipe's bride :-)

(going to buy HP in about 1,5 hours - don't expect me back for the rest of the day!)

Dani -- good call, it was the Zakis that got me started on that line of thinking.

Nigma -- you're right. I was waiting up for my son to get home from the movies last night. Why do the other parents think it's a good idea to take 13 year olds to late shows?

I'm the same way -- that's why Zappos couture is a safe place for me to window shop. There's not much danger that I'll suddenly decide a need a couple pairs of $500 shoes!

OMG, the Eman Zakis are sex on a stick *drools* but I wouldn't say no to the Hallah Moustafas either!

Where's a "mopping up drool" emoticon when you need it?

"Shoes" on YouTube

I loooooooove pretty shoes!

In case you haven't seen it the Kelly (comedian Liam Sullivan) "Shoes" video, here's the short version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HjIljJd-o0

The longer version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCF3ywukQYA

(By the way, there's really loud profanity at about 2 min. (short) or 3 min. (long), just in case you're sensitive or there are little ears around.)
