Thanks for not holding the dough against me. I'd love tribal Evolution. I think Dahlal has it. Another fun title is Belly Belly Afro Belly by Domba. I've heard good things about the By Dancers For Dancers #2. I haven't gotten anything in the last year so anything new I won't have. You're so sweet to go through with the DVD.

Here's me parading with a turban. Not quite a tiara but I'm more tribal anyway.

You ladies are the best.

Well, I put on 2 pounds but I'm not counting them 'cos it's that time of the month.

the BEST thing is that a couple of days ago I measured myself and I've lost an inch on every single measure I was thrilled to bits!

yippee

Oh that 2 pounds will be gone soon enough! The smaller measurements are so rewarding!

I'm holding steady at my same old weight. I told Lauren that I'm trying a new approach - sort of shocking my body into going lower by climbing higher a little and resting there before making a push to go lower.

Hey, maybe it's the influence of all the mountain climbing books I'm reading where people climb up and then back down to low altitudes to acclimatize so they can reach higher goals on the next run -- except, I'm sort of doing it in reverse.

fun while it lasted

D'oh! up 7 lbs since last post...and up 2" in the belly and *sob* upper hip.

Course, if I hadn't been stuffing my face every chance I got for the past 2 days... I really hate PMS, I lose all willpower.

~I need some dieting help~

I've been on a diet since june 2006....its been kinda off and on and even though I haven't gained much between the offs and ons..I would just like to lose the rest off. When I started I weighed around 195 and I went down to 156! I weigh around 156 right now but I would like to reach 130..I would like reach 130 by christmas. If there is any tips or advice anyone could give me would be much appreciated.... My problem is after dietin for so long I get this urge to eat alot of sweets and I treat myself once a week so I'm not depriving myself..am I?

darkangel,

I think if you're treating yourself once a week after a year or more you are doing AMAZING!

I'm sort of treating myself now after only 4 months.....er.....not too good there. But still, I'm thinking it does us better in the long run to take a mini-break now and again.

Ur right! It does do good to take a mini break....I guess I just got to try to control it better when I go on my mini breaks, I got the once a week thing from my mom, she told that if u deprieve urself treats then it comes back and gets revenge later down the dieting rode. You work very hard during the week so by weekened u deserve a treat. I've gone by that and its worked except when one of my mini breaks come....I'll work harder to control it! My goal is to reach 130 by christmas and I plan on reaching it!

I did that when I lost a lot of weight a few years ago. I realised that my body needed to get used to the new weight and settle in there before I tried to go down again. So I would have a break every half a stone (7 pounds) wait for a month or so for me to get used to that being my new 'real' weight and then off I'd go again. Of course every time I had a break I naturally put on a couple of pounds but I didn't stress about it because I knew that was just the usual 2 pounds water weight that you lose straight away when you first go on a diet. I lost 30 pounds in total and it was fairly slow but it stayed off and I've never gained it again.

Lost two pounds last week. Am down to 163. That's about what I weighed when I conceived my son six years ago. Bought size 16 pants to celebrate (in the regular ladies section--not plus size section). I caught my husband "giving me the eye" a couple of days ago.

As far as taking breaks I find I'm in need of them during the weekend. I try to listen to my body for what it's needing. I made a conscious decision to have a small ice cream cone last night. I'll make up for it during the week. Last week after a long rehearsal I found I needed a little something because I was feeling shakey and light headed. I had a couple of slices of turkey lunch meat and a cup of milk and was all better.

Good luck to everyone for the last week of August.

Beth

I am also trying to lose weight. I have switched driving to work with biking. I have 2 jobs and find it hard to fit time in for exercising. Any recommendations for me?

You lost 40 pounds and are asking for tips from us!?!

Girl-I'm not worthy to sit at the rice cake crumbs at your feet. You should be giving us advice.

So, you know how this dieting works. Once a week treats are great. Everyone should have treats once a week. The hard part is stopping at once a week. Maybe since you're having a difficult time with sweets you should eliminate them for a week or two. That should help with the craving.

Congrats on your progress and resolve. Losing 26 pounds by Christmas is ambitious but possible. I think that's around 6.5 pounds per month. IMHO it's harder going from summer into winter, though. We're here for you, though.
Beth

Uh oh! BAD juxtaposition of stuff. Holiday weekend, PMT, neighbour's 70th birthday bash. Champagne, canapes, rare roast beef, profiteroles, perfect cheese, fine wines.

Yes me lud - I ate the lot!

I'm not getting on that scale for at least a week I can tell you

Okay Sunshine-that party was a toughie. I worship profiteroles Oh those fluffy, creamy puffs of tastiness! I can't blame you for those. Load up on veggies over the next couple of days. If you can get rid of some carbs it should be able to pop your body back. How soon is that competition you're in?

Hubby brought home sweet corn and crab legs. Never mind that son and I had already eaten because he was coming home late. I had two dinners last night and 8 fig newtons! At least nothing was fried or laden with saturated fat. I'm back in the saddle today. Steamed veggies and grilled chicken for lunch.

I'm officially back on the wagon now after two lusciously relaxed weeks. I didn't eat like an idiot (except during the weekend while I was traveling) but for the first time in 8 months I stopped counting my calories.

It was liberating, and for a short time I nearly convinced myself that I can give that up now, I've established good habits. Ummmm, that wasn't working. It's just too easy to talk myself into a little sumpin sumpin several times a day....

Until I'm done losing, I'm going to have to journal everything. *sigh*

Oh, I forgot to mention the birthday cake too

The competition's in five weeks so I've still got time to get it off.

and even better the competition weekend just misses that time of the month. So hopefully I'll have lost the usual three
