How long do you prefer your circle skirts? I'm talking about the full three panel circle skirt style..remember the old days with lots of beads and swirly skirts

Do you prefer ankle length or longer? Touching the floor?

Also I had sort of an idea..right now I have these silk wrap skirts in two lengths.. http://www.akaisilks.com/islandwrapskirt2.html

there's a medium length which when you wear it around your lower waist/hips it hits about the knee or longer depending on how tall you are

then the longer length is almost ankle length (would be ankle on shorter dancers)

So I started thinking well why not make them a bit longer so that dancers can use them as either a dance skirt OR a daily skirt..they wrap around and tie and depending on waist size, they could be open on one side to show one leg during dance..if they were on a petite dancer with a tiny waist i suppose it's possible they will wrap even more for full coverage.

The ties are silk so they are not bunchy..I think the tie would fit under a good solid bellydance belt. There are two layers to the skirt but they drape nice and lay flat and don't bunch at the hips. The two layers may give it extra spin. They wouldn't be super full skirts but would still be pretty, be silk, etc.

what thinks?? runs off to play with one..

I like mine almost touching the floor. . .

The skirt in the link you posted is very like the recycled sari skirts sold by Jedzebelle and others. I have one on right now. I have seen Jenna wear one to perform in, and it did work, but you are right, it's definately a gypsy look and feel.

One of my pet peeves is skirts on dancers that are too short. I definitely prefer to the floor. And I sooo want a skirt from you Jes! LOVE LOVE LOVE your stuff

thank you :) feedback rocks..received some really well thought out emails over the weekend about this as well

i think the wrap skirts will work with a bit of tweaking and added length

here is a really lame pic..my model is anorexic so the belt slides down and i'm too lazy to pin it :) but its' an idea..fire -ish skirt (wrap style) with a domba set..still wanna pair these with silk sleeves, Koneko if you are reading this I finally have more silk so can send to you
