Threading hair removal
Its an ancient Middle Eastern and Indian hair removal technique using string.
Just wanted to tell you that I tried threading for the face and eyebrows. Its awesome, I love it and are now addicted. I had it done on my eyebrows years ago by my uncle but seeing I dont talk to him anymore my friend recomended me this lovely lady who does it.
You gotta try it! its fab, much better than waxing!
Found this on youtube

My Egyptian sweetie knows how to do that; he grew up with two older sisters, so I'm sure they employed him to do their dirty work.
I'm learning it now, it's great! I don't know how I feel about it for a bonding activity, though; I get weirded out when he wants to do my upper lip...

There are many salons here in LA which do this as well. Many are Indian. . .

Anything that involves ripping hair out gives me the heebs. I know this would technically be quicker and better than plucking my eyebrows (which I do), but... ow.
I don't know why I am so pain-sensitive when it comes to waxing and other depilatory things. You could drive a truck over my shoulders or bum and I'd be like "yeah, you can go harder if you want".

The first time, yes, I think it hurts more htan waxing. But I have never been burned by threading.

There's a kiosk in the mall that does this. I'm a bit curious as I have my brows waxed regularly, but no *way* am I having something painful done in the middle of a busy mall!

If you have your brows waxed regularily they should be a bit de-sensitised. I plucked mine and now dont feel a thing, even with threading. But the upper lip hurts most but its worth it!!

I have a friend that gets threading done, it's quite common at a lot of beauty salons around here. It's a lot neater than waxing or plucking, her eyebrows always look gorgeous!

For me, it hurts more on longer hair. When I first met my honey, he told me about this whole "threading" nonsense, and I thought he was crazy, but then he attacked my arm oooooohhhh, the pain...I think you have to get used to it, just like waxing.
He got a tattoo on his arm a few months ago, he asks me to thread the area once in a while to keep it looking nice...I feel like we're two apes grooming each other sometimes.
I've never seen how other threaders do it (besides the ones posted here), but he holds the thread in his mouth and does the cats cradle thing, then moves his hands and head in this khaliji dance sort of way. Is that typical?

i like it much better than waxing. it hurts me less on the eyebrows but more on the upper lip. i can't do that- i keep to getting it waxed. my friend was practically crying when she got her eyebrows threaded, she usually plucks. so i guess it just depends on the person.

I've had it done at the mall and it always looks nice and neat. I've done waxing for a long time and dont' find it more or less painful than that.
