Sharifwear (or something similar!)

Hi

Anyone in the UK know of a supplier of Sharifwear other than Aladdin's Cave and Little Blue Genie? I am in urgent need of a pair of folded waist trousers and neither of the above has them in stock. I would order them direct from New York but I found the shipping to be very expensive. . .

On the other hand if someone can recommend a similar design (http://www.sharifwear.com/?item_id=215) I would be very grateful. Due to illness I have developed swollen and rather misshapen knees and my tighter fit jazz pants only emphasize this. So I am looking for loose fit trousers/pants to replace them.

NOTE: I'd consider a non-UK supplier if shipping was reasonable.

Suggestions anyone??

TIA, Afra

Do they give a list of suppliers or can they at Sharifwear?
You might check www.sakkara.de to see what they have.
Also Mandy at Shimmyshop had some great pants at the last hafla I was at!

I tried emailing them yesterday but haven't heard back yet, but then it's only one day. I am kicking myself for not going in there whilst I was in New York but then there's the fact that I'd already spent a big part of my budget on music/dvds at Rashid's. . .

Will take a look a Mandy's website and the German one - thanks.

You'll need to phone her ..she doesn't have everything on it or PM her on here.
I bought a pair of pants with a fold over top from katrinamariedesigns on ebay..they are similar to melodias.

HI,
check out www.kimsakkara.com
Kim has her own bellydance wear. Awesome articles, professionally made pants, tops, skirts etc. She is located in Portland,Oregon USA. It might be a bit for shipping. Her velvet dance pants are to die for! She makes them in short and tall models. Lots of leg room, non constriting bell bottom type pant.
She is very resonably priced for the excellent quality product I believe she has a sale on right now too. Good luck and I hope you can do business with her. Ciao!!

Afra,

Check out Discount Dance Supply.

here's a pair of metallic jazz pants even!

http://www.discountdance.com/frame_s...age_TB_p1.html

their prices are very reasonable so even if shipping is a bit much, altogether it'd probably be less than sharifwear.

Also, ebay and search for "Salsa pants." I bought a pair of wide legged hip huggers for about $25 brand new on their and they are really cute!

Great suggestions - thank you! I am trying to make my mind up so if anyone else has ideas please let me know. My ideal is something made out of a light fabric (not velvet as I find that too hot to work in) anything in a loose fit would be perfect! I've just been looking at some recent workshop photos and I had no idea just how bad my standard lycra jazz pants make me look - ouch!

Oh thank you - what a lovely thing to say!

I really hate the way my legs look right now and they have got really bad since you saw me at Raqs Britannia. It wasn't helped by being involved in a minor accident when I was in NYC either. That was 10 days ago and the bruises still look like they are just two days old. At the moment my knees are quite swollen and it's not a pretty sight. My jazz pants just make it look very obvious and it's not going to go down any time soon. I just hate the way it all looks right now. . .

In the end that's who I ordered from. They didn't have my original choice in my size so I bought something similar and one of their nice tops as well.
