How would u dress up harem pants?

I know the crowd has mixed feelings about harem pants but I think they are cute. I'm guilty of wanting more of them. So...for u "harem" lovers how would u dress up?

by wearing melodias... I find harem pants dangerous, I trip in them. That having been said, I like the ones with slits outlined with sequins, funky fabrics. Isis and the star dancers were also selling VERY wide legged pants look just like skirts, but safer.

Hi!
I'm actually a bit of a harem pants fan myself (because they're so comfy!) and I think they look really good when done with the the right material. ; ) I like the idea of harem pants with a coin bra and belt and perhaps just a nice complimentary panel skirt underneath...it just looks kinda vintage to me.

Not sure if this is quite what you are looking for, but...
Judeen (Central California dancer) used to wear (and sell) these very cool chiffon harem pants that had a slit up the front that was hemmed with sequins. She had layered chiffon petal skirts that matched them to wear over them, and it was a great look with a two-piece costume.

A long time ago (10+ years) I worked in a place that did not want the dancers to wear harem pants (skirts only), and I was able to get away with wearing these without them knowing/caring. :P Comfy glam--yeah!

I'll see if I can dig up a picture.

Edited to add: She is wearing them in some of the pics on her gallery: http://www.judeen.com/photos.html . She often wears pants (and she always looks great!).

When I did wear harem pants I like to put them together with a coin bra and turkish vest of similar colour to pants (I like velvet ones). they look good with a panel skirt or a floaty chiffon over skirt. I prefer harem pants made of non shear fabric but many dancers wear them quite transparent. I think they look cool in earthy looking stripes or colours.

I love harem pants too. I am big on the bottom, so wearing them with a skirt just make me look bigger. But, I did find a nice long hip scarf that fit with them perfectly.

Those of you who love harem pants might enjoy this little thread with a historical perspective on them on tribe.net : http://tribes.tribe.net/shira/thread...d-e22940df84db

Yeah, I realize this is a shameless plug for my tribe, but it IS related to harem pants and leads to some fun photos!

Here I'm wearing harem pants under a 6-panel skirt made of the same double georgette fabric. The harem pants have a cuff instead of elastic at the ankle, which is trimmed with a row of sequins across the top and bottom of the cuff. The cuff closes with a hook/eye set. The pant legs are slit center front of the leg from about mid-thigh down to the cuff, with a row of sequins outlining the slit.

U look Fab, I always liked those photos. I have crinkly cotton ones. I'm trying to figure out what type of material to wear as a choli. Any ideas besides velvet?

I love harems for floor work. I usually wear solid satin ones...under a panel skirt or just "fringe" for a more tribaret look.

My troupe performed outside in the sweltering heat back in June. I opted for a very large pair of black harem pants with no skirt. I just added a yarn belt to it for interest.

I'm also seriously considering getting the flair style pants with the slits on the sides that I've seen tribal fusion troupes wear. They look so cool.
