L Rose Trumpet Skirt- Forgiving?
Is the L Rose Trumpet skirt forgiving when it comes to the little bumps on the hips that we ladies try so hard to conceal? Don't make me say the dreaded "C" word!

I don't know what the "c" word is, but I have two trumpet skirts, and I love them! I recommend the velvet one more than lycra. I'm pretty curvy in the hips, and the trumpets make me look so flatteringly hourglassy! Love them!

it's never held a grudge with me!
I crack myself up
anyway, I've seen them on every size dancer, on every weight and with any number of issues, they seem to the single most flattering item ever. That having been said, i prefer the deluxe, with a slit for the least amount of restriction in my movements.

Oh my yes, the deluxe trumpet from L.Rose is the most hip and butt-forgiving skirt EVER and I have them in velvet and metallic lycra. In fact, the one time I tried on a lycra straight skirt was the last - no, no, no, not going there!

My trumpets are forgiving and very flattering, but I have to say I was worried about getting a light color for the same reason. I have red and cognac in lux velvet and both conceal nicely. Does anyone have any pastel ones? Do they have the same effect or are bumps more visible?
I supposed crushed velvet would hide more, but I'm told they make you look a few pounds heavier...

Ooooh, I just ordered my first deluxe trumpet skirt in red for a bra-belt-set that needs a fresh combination. So looking forward to trying it on!
Could we say that the trumpet skirt is the Melodia of the skirts?

my first pair of Melos arrived in the mail today, and I'm inclined to agree with that statement. Shoshanna and Melodia are brilliant!

Muffintop, the dreaded "M" word. How do you get rid of a muffintop? Kinda reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where they sell nothing but muffin tops and dump the bottoms in a heap in the back room.

LOL... I thought the "C" word would be "Cottage Cheese."
Thanks for asking this question...I'm contemplating getting an L. Rose trumpet skirt for myself.

Love L Rose
Ah, I love my trumpet skirts. Sadly, I've lost weight (well, YAY I've lost weight, but BOO nothing fits, dammit) and mine don't really fit well any more.
But, speaking as a curvy gal who has been all sorts of sizes, I think the trumpet skirt is the single most flattering cut of skirt there is. Ever. And Lora at L Rose is an absolute sweetheart, AND the quality is utterly fabulous. Plus if you're on the short side like me, or impossibly tall (you lucky things), then the made-to-measure element is worth it's weight in gold alone.
Can you tell I'm a fan? I think most of us here are!

Ding! Ding ! Ding! Meissoun gets the prize. Yes, the dreaded "C" word refers to cellulite. Seems to matter little how much I weigh, or how much I exercise, I always have those hideous dimples on my thighs. Hate 'em! Hate 'em! Hate 'em! My husband says he loves my thighs, but I think he is just biased. Of course, I think most men are also more forgiving of physical flaws than we think they are. At least they seem to be forgiving of those on the ones they love. :)

Some cupcakes I have eaten along the way may have had something to do with my "C" word! :) But seriously, I am a healthy weight, and I still have cellulite. Might help to do some weight training, but I absolutely abhor weight training. Did it for a number of years in high school and college, and got burned out. I'd much rather camouflage it than try to conquer it! :)

Years ago, my husband, teenage daughter, and I moved to an apartment complex that had a swimming pool. A couple of young ladies moved in down the hall from us. One day, the blond (quite stunning in appearance) walked by from the pool dressed in only a black bikini. My sweetie, of course, turned to watch her walk by-with great admiration. Seeing this, my 16-year old said, "She's not THAT hot. She's got saddlebags!" Her Father proclaimed, "I'll rub them away! With many kisses!"
I later explained to my child that casting aspersions upon another woman's hot body just makes one look stupid.....

I'm wearing one in my current picture on this web site... and love it... The fabric is thick, and its stretchy and very good quality. I want one in every color.

I think that cellulite is actually the correct word, but most people here still are used to cellulitis...
Anyway. Time for my new LRose trumpet skirt! Tataaaaa....
http://www.bhuz.com/index.php?cmd=/p...name_meissoun/
(Can't put a direct picture link on my office computer....)
I'll have better picutres of it in a few days.
Anyway, the red is a wonderful color.
Oh, and I was so glad to have that U-top to cover up some bad bruises on my arms that I got from surfing...
