Best of...
I need to re-vamp my make up. I'm tired of the same old same old.
i'd like to see what other products people have that they really like.
So, best of durability? long wearing without damage?
Best of removers? i like oil of olay wipes, my face doesn't feel as if it's going to fall off after I remove my makeup.
For moisterizer, i like neutrogena, light tint with spf 15
I'm addicted to chapstick, have dozens all over the place.
I haven't found any lipsticks that i like as much as my chapstick and routinely just wipe it off as soon as I can.
I'd like to try different eyeshadows, shades and mascara. I'm running low, so time to get some.

I love the mineral eye shadows...so versatile, as liner, shadow or shiny top-coat (foiling). Also just got the HIP (by Loreal) cream liner today and I like it so far...doesn't budge without some serious remover though (good if you're NOT prone to application mistakes). Target eyelashes, although not much selction, seem to last longer than any other brands I've used...go figure!

I love Smashbox's foundation primer. Their foundation is great too, but the primer makes even inexpensive foundation look better. For daytime, I skip the liquid foundation and just use a mineral foundation powder - I got Physician's Formula last time, only $11 and it rocks!

Ooooh, I want to play!
I'm also a new fan of HIP cream liner. It's wonderful.
I love Diorshow mascara. The big brush took some getting used to, I felt like I was putting on makeup with a toilet brush at first! But it does everything mascara should do.
I like Tarte Flush cheek stain -- it's like rubbing a lollipop on your cheeks, but then it blends into a nice, sheer, lightly glossy gel blush. If you're wearing foundation under it, it blends with that to create a really subtle, sheer shade.
I also love Nars Orgasm (hee hee) powder blush. Very natural, slightly shimmery, I dust it on cheeks and eyelids for a natural youthful glow.
For fall, I just bought some Revlon Just Bitten lip stain in a berry color. It feels like I'm wearing nothing and gives a natural looking stain that lasts & lasts. (you could probably wear chapstick over it).
I'm looking for a really great highlighter for under my browbones. I want somewhere between a subtle, everyday look and a dramatic highlight, maybe with golden undertones. Anyone know one?

After years of sweating off my eyeliner after just one show, I have recently fallen in love with MAC's fluidline in Blacktrack for my eyeliner. This stuff is amazing!! It stays put until I want it to come off. To remove my makeup, I use St. Ives creamy facewash. The name escapes me right now, but it's in a yellow tube or tub, and smells like lemon pudding. So good, and so gentle on my eyes, but effective at removing eye makeup.

Seconded! I have looked around for a cheaper alternative, and finally decided to forget about it. This stuff rules and is actually a bargain at $13 (I bought it in the brown shade, 'Dipdown', recently, too). It has staying power galore.

I have been using the MAC liquid eyeliners. They come in all sorts of colors. I just got purple, which is even better than black. I also have turquoise and gold. Like the fluidline (which I think is the one that comes in a pot, yes?) - they last FOREVER. And I bought some of their new 3D lipglass. ONly problem is that it comes off on everything so I probably won't wear it for shows.
I like the Smashbox sets where you can pick out any four colors and mix and match into a compact. I also noticed that their colors stay on all day and go on smoothly.
I use Bare Escentuals for foundation and bronzer. It doesn't make me break out, which is a plus.
LOVED reading this thread - I always get great ideas from other people. In fact, bare escentuals (mineral foundation) was a tip on the dancer's hair & makeup tribe on Tribe.

You can do this with MAC colors, too! Just their shadows. You buy a compact (they come in a 4, 16 and 32 palette, I think) and then you pick the colors to go in it. The shadow backings are magnetized to the palette so you can pop colors in and out as you please. The best part is the shadows are only $10 when you buy them for the palette, instead of $13 when you buy the shadow in its own little pot.

They just opened a MAC store in Sacramento so it's great to hear these recommendations!

For everyday I use mineral makeup. I started with Bare Escentuals foundation and am now using Loreal's mineral foundation which I think has more coverage (and cheaper too). I use both the Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil and the Physicians Formula finishing powder. And I use Bare Escentuals concealer. Love the Bare Escentuals eye shadow.
For stage foundation for outside I use Max Factor's panstick. For indoors and under lights I use Shisheido's oil-based stick foundation over their foundation primer. Plus Ben Nye concealer and powder. I am fair skinned and the Shisheido seemed to give the most even coverage under lights without making me look orange or pink.
Love any kind of sparkly gold eye shadow! And cheap NYC eye liner pencil and brow pencils. They have some that are black at one end and white at the other or black at one end and gold at the other. Plus auburn brow pencils with a little brush on the other end.

Lauren: I love the High Brow pencil by Benefit. It's a pink tone but it's really great. Also, the Eye Bright pencil is very good. Edited to add: I just saw their "Gilded" pencil! Right in the color family you were looking for!
I'm currently loving Bare Escentuals foundation for every day. Great coverage and it feels great. For stage I've started using an Avon foundation from their Mark line. It's still light feeling but a very nice base to work on.
I've been eyeing the Benefit "That Gal" and "Benetint" for cheeks. Anyone try those yet?

I don't think I need to mention at this point that MAC fluidline is really good but I'll also throw in a word for MAC's veluxe pearl eyeshadows. They come in a variety of colors that go on really strong and last well. Their lipsticks are good too. If you go to the counter at the downtown Macy's, look for a tall white guy with short black hair working there. He's really good at picking out lipstick and blush colors. (I'm totally blanking on his name right now, he also plays drums for local goth bands )

I use the Benetint on my lips with a little gloss.
It looks very nice on the cheeks on bare skin, but i have sensitive skin so i stopped using it on my cheeks
I tried once, while trying some stuff from the Kevin au coin book, to put it over foundation but it was a mess.

I am a MAC fluidline addict. I have it in 7 different shades!! I wear it every day. It doesn't smear or flake off but washes off pretty easily and I find I get much better control having to use a brush for my eyeliner than I did with a pencil.

For makeup removal, I like the Body Shop's chamomile makup remover.
For eye shadow, I like Meleah's products - see http://www.meleah.com/
Which reminds me, I need to order more highlighter...
