lrose customers: another ordering question

So, I am about to send in a troupe order for 10 beledi dresses with the deluxe trumpet. I noticed in another thread that Lauren and someone else advised adding an inch to length measurements to ensure they are long enough.

Should I also add an inch to the bust, waist, and hip measurements? I'd rather have to help people take them in a bit than have them too tight.

Any kind of trumpet skirt L.Rose recommends adding an inch and a half to length dancer orders in a circle skirt, it is the trumpet design that does not look very good if it is too high on the ankle. Goes for deluxe or regular trumpet skirt.
As far as the bust, waist, and hip - it's the fabric - velvet has waaaaaay more give than any of the metallic or halo lycras I order at least 2" wider in the hips and about 1" wider in the bust and waist - somehow on my hourglass figure, having that shiny lycra skin tight across hips is just, well, awful, even if it is a deluxe trumpet with the extra panel. But my velvet trumpet I wound up taking in - I ordered according to my exact measurements and it was too wide! I agree, it is a whole lot better to take in a dress or skirt than having it be too tight!

Thanks Nisima, I guess I should add that we are getting lycra, not velvet.

We got the lycra and added an inch to all measurements. On the length, we measured from the top of the hipbone all the way too the floor. My first trumpet was just a little too tight. It's so much easier to work with too loose!

everyone's skirts fit like a dream -- except for mine, which was too big, but I think I'd lost weight after we ordered.

What fabric are you getting? I've found that, for some reason, the Twilight velvet is quite a good deal tighter than the luxury velvet. I did have a metalskin top once, and because it's lycra it too was quite tight.

I think the fabric with the most "give" is the luxury velvet, because it's so super stretchy. I'd probably NOT add any extra inches to measurements for luxury velvet sets. But for lycra/metalskin/twilight velvet perhaps a little extra would be useful. Think I'll keep this in mind for my own next order too! :tounge:

PS - please note, I have found where y'all were hiding those extra smilies. The wurld iz mine!

i've only told the girls who are well endowed upstairs, and have broad shoulders to add a bit. we also went for the banded tops and bra's, so that it's all covered up nicely...
