L.Rose Melaya Dress!
My L.Rose red on red halographic lycra Melaya dresses arrived yesterday - yes, Lora has designed a shorter version of a flared beledi dress with short sleeves, sassy cold shoulder cut-out and split circular drape. With the insert flares at hem and one off-center slit, it is really a very sassy dress for Melaya routine! Lora is a genious! I have had such a hard time finding a dress to use in Melaya routine and do not like the heavily beaded ones so this is a great alternative and just think of all the options in shiny metalskin and halo lycra! I'm sooooo happy with mine, when my duet partner and I perform our Melaya routine, I'll have pictures but I think you all get the general idea! Certainly the dress can be embellished with pailettes on sleeves and at neck and hem - I like it so much in the red halo that I don't think it needs it.
This is not in catalog but if you want one, call Lora and tell her "Nisima Sent Me for the Short Flared Beledi Dress for Melaya".  |

Well, I promised Lora the first picture for her gallery because my dress is the very first of this new line (smiles smugly). Okay, everyone stop whining, I will update you when Lora has posted the picture - I don't have the thingamabob for my Mac at home and cannot use the work computer to post pictures, (they actually expect me to do their stuff at work, go figure) .
Anyhoo, Monica I'm coming to your class on Monday, Sept.23 and will bring the red Melaya dress so you can see it.
And, I just talked to Lora this morning and she has other designs in mind for Melaya dresses - oh, the woman is amazing! I want another one in that black halo lycra, maybe..........or that halographic blue purple......

I'm sorry, guys - I'm "camera clueless" and now the darn thing is on the fritz as well as my photolab printer (sob) so I will get a disposable, snap some pix and send them to Shoshanna to post in a few days.
I should not have played with your emotions about Melaya dresses! They are hard enough to find as it is, but I wanted you all to at least know that L.Rose is ON IT, and besides the flared version (it's the flared beledi dress only shorter, with short sleeves and a slit over one knee) Lora is thinking about doing Melaya dresses with chiffon ruffles or fringe at the hem and all sorts of sleeve options (of course!)

Well, thanks - what you are not able to see is the cut-out "cold shoulders" and it looks decidedly lumpy as I had pulled the dress on over my top - but I think you all can see the possibilites of a simpler Melaya dress. |
