Not exactly courtly was it?
BUT she didn't dress any worse than Madonna or Britney.
I'd have loved to see her dance in a nice costume because I liked her singing and reckon she could really move. Loved the music. It was surely a scene form a film and she was in character.
I am sure the present regime wouldn't like that!
And you spot Sadam (in his happier times) in the audience?

I, too, would like to see the Persian singer/dancer in costume dancing because she had nice flow in her body and movement.

Maybe that isn't the rule? I've never been to such a conservative Muslim wedding, and I haven't heard a lot of stories about that around here. On the contrary, I've heard of more American audiences requesting conservative costumes. In all, I guess it really depends on where you are.

I would expect that a conservative Muslim wedding wouldn't have a dancer to begin with. Right?

Yeah, it seems to be a "all or nothing" thing. When the occasional Islamic Inquisition stops the show (Noooobody expects the Islamic Inquistion!), it's not because of the costume: it's just the idea of it all!
