a good matte makeup line
can anyone recommend a good makeup line with nice matte base, blush and shadows? i have plenty of shimmery stuff but really need some new daytime makeup that doesn't have all the shine. we sweat a lot on the island and i dont always want the glistening look, lol.
right now i use a shimmery mineral powder base and really like it..dust it on with a brush and it works as nice as foundation coverage so if there is such thing as a nice mineral powder without the shine?
also in need of blush in coppery tones not shiny though..and eye shadows leaning towards canyon colors, copper, brown, maybe burgundy
but nothing too mild..i love aveda makeup and there's another one that is really good but the colors are not really hmm..enough..but i dont want MAC color
THANKS

Have you tried the Bare Minerals powder foundation? The one I use isn't shimmery at all--it's bareMinerals foundation 30873 SPF 15 in medium beige.
Then I have another one I use for blush that is matte--it's a little off for my olive skin tone, but check it out online--it's bareMinerals face color 26049 in glee (that's the name of the color).
They came in some kit my mom bought. She didn't like the products at all and gave them to me.
I'm still not sure about Bare Minerals--it's so damned messy. My bathroom sink always has shiznit all over it from my swirling and tapping of powders.

Bare Escentuals fan here.
I love the stuff - NO. MORE. MAKEUP LINE. Can I tell you how much I hate seeing the "mask" on people and me? that line at the jaw where your blending ain't what it ought to be? Without amazing lighting and perfect mirrors - that line is hard to get rid of.
Those powders are messy though.

I use Everyday Minerals, and they have a matte line. Bare Escentuals did have some shimmer in it IIRC (on me, at least), and I don't need any extra deweyness either!

MAC Studio Fix is about the mattest thing I have ever encountered next to chalk. I can't wear it - my skin is quite dry and matte naturally, and it makes me look ten thousand years old - but if your skin is dewy or oily I think it would be superb.

Bare Essentials girl too! And yes, my bathroom looks like a war zone, any future Mr. Aradia is just going to have to use another bathroom in the house, I claim the master br for me, my make up, false eyelashes and hair pieces!!!

Everyday minerals is awesome! They are supposed to be getting machines to make pressed powders. Hopefully that will cut down on the mess.

well...blush... i ran off to the mall..tried visiting the other makeup vendors first but kept longingly looking over at the MAC counter with its bright colors and black T-shirted techs..so I slinked over and found that stick Zumarrad mentioned..Studio fix? I LOVE it. Of course it requires a very expensive brush to put it on but I was in treat mode..so got the stick, the brush, some setting powder and even splurged on the charged water whatever the heck that was. She didnt have to sell me a thing, she showed me how to apply it and i was sold on all of it.
I walked out $347.00 less in the bank account but happy. (i picked up eye shadows, gloss, mascara, liner, more brushes..i mean i was already THERE lol)

Hot damn! Will they give me commission?
That sounds great, Jes. It's important to have girly treats after having a baby! You deserve it!

brushes
You bought the concealer brush right? That thing is amazing. I'm not that thrilled with the eyeliner brush actually. I like the wet/dry eyeshadow brush quite a lot also.

Another Bare Minerals addict here!! It's all I wear; I love it so much. I can't say enough good things about it.
Jes, you've always been so good to me, I should send you some samples. Is there anything in particular (products, colors) that you're looking for?

i'm also a bare minerals convert for everyday.
for dancing, i like mac studio fix b/c it stays on through sweat.
i just put a towel over the tile counter when i do my powder in the morning and that has solved the messy counter problem. i refuse to scrub grout!

yes, i love the concealer brush that comes with the kit. actually, the must brush is the Soft Focus Eyeshadow brush. i love it so much i want another. but i might just go whole hog and get the eye intro kit- i want the the wet dry brush too. and i want to get the Meet the Greens color set.
actually, i want to walk in the store with a spoon. it all looks good enough to eat.
