help needed - hard to fit 44H troupe member

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of where to send my troupe member who wears a 44H bra size? The troupe voted on bedlahs with u-tops, but we are having a really hard time finding a bedlah for a size 44H top that won't run the dear girl $300. This is just a troupe costume - so it should be kept very inexpensive. And . . . no, neither she or I can sew one.

Does anyone have any guidance?
Thankx!

I don't know if there are any good seemstresses in your area but our troupe has a member with a simular problem. She took one of the costumes to a seemstress, who told her how much fabric to buy and then she made her a copy of the dress. I don't know what it cost though!

if you could describe the style of bedlah a bit more or post pic of your costume choices, i will have a better idea of what you are looking for and will think on it.

also, there are some very talented costumers here. maybe they can make something.

this can be solved, don't worry

Also, try a company called artdreamers2 on ebay. She does really great plus-size work at a very reasonable price. I am pretty sure she does custom work and I love the dress I bought from her!

Buy a Lane Bryant underwire (I the name but its the best and comfy for those with larger chests-silicone on the edges!) cover it with velvet from JoAnns and spray glue, and get some fringe from kay's beaded fringe. I could probably help if you need guidance...

I don't sew down the center of my cups as large cups aren't hard enough. I use 2 or 4 way stretch, spary the cups with sewing glue, and sew the edges down. That way the fabric doesn't pull the cups out of shape. The decorations and fringe is enough to keep the fabric on forever!

Works slicker than h*ll ;)

I have a troupe mate with the same costuming problem. She bought a couple of beaded shawls like these (link below), sewed one to a comfortable bra, and made a belt with the other two by sewing them to a pre-made belt form. I think you have to put a drop of nail polish on the ends of the fringe on these shawls to make them sturdy enough for dancing, but that's easy enough.

If you are all wearing U-tops (aren't those the vesty things with a scoop in the front to show a bra?) it should be even easier. She can just plop the beaded shawl on the top of a plain bra and pin it down.

The shawls are a great idea! I am not a seamstress, but that sounds like even I can do it!

Amity - do I just get the spray glue at Michael's?

If they are all wearing U-tops, have Lora make her a custom size bra (like the ones that LRose sells) and wear her regular bra under it. Perhaps someone in the troupe has a sewing machine and can actually stitch the bra inside, add some sequin trim and glue on rhinestones and you're in business.

I have recently brought a lovely hand made egyptian bra that must be at least a size 44H, i am a g cup and it is way to big for me, it might not be suitable for this troupe dance but if she was intrested i could send her some details. I payed $90 & am happy to sell at the same price. it is turquoise and silver covered it beautiful beading. Send me message if she would like more information.

Yes- but make sure its the type that you stick and restick/move around the fabric again and again
