Ribbon - Where to find

What would be a good resource to find some pretty decorative ribbon to put on a handmade bra? The fabric stores just don't seem to have as much as they used to...

Thanks for your help!

Have you checked out the on-line source "Lace Heaven"? I haven't really looked at what they've got for ribbon, but I occasionally check them out for their beaded & sequined appliques and trims.

when a fabric stoes fails, go to an arts/crafts place, like michaels.

Try www.mjtrim.com. They have just about any kind of decorative trimming you can think of, including a whole bunch of ribbon.

I'll have to give Michael's a try. Joann Fabrics didn't have what I was looking for. I'll have to check out the mjtrim site also. I'm having a heck of a time finding black and silver. I have this picture in my mind, and I can't seem to find the right trim. Basically, the colors I have going right now are black, cranberry and silver, and I was hoping to find ribbon that would incorporate at least two of the colors. Keep your fingers crossed for me! This is for my very first costume and student troupe performance!

I've never bought from this ebay seller, but they have a huge selection and 100% pos feetback. Lots of beautiful ribbons and trims, including jaquard, metallic, and beaded...

I also had a hard time when I was looking for trim and tassels to decorate my bra with. I checked jo-anns, michaels and hobby lobby. Believe it or not, the place where I found the perfect trim and tassels was wal-mart. Their stuff is kind of spread around, so you have to dig a little bit. They have little bags of tassels, in a few different colors, and I used those on my bra. I also dug around their little clearance bin and found some really cool fringe and tassels I got cheap that I am plainning on using for a belt. If I get time I can post the stuff I found.

In general there's a ton of trim and ribbon on eBay--I don't remember the vendor's name, but I bought some gorgeous black and silver sari trim on eBay. A search for "trim" in the Crafts category just got me 2905 results, not including stores.

Yeah, I had high hopes for Michael's, and they didn't have much. I also tried Banner Crafts, and they had pretty much nothing. I think I'll just skip the 45 minute drive out to Hobby Lobby since it sounds like they won't have anything either. I was able to find something at Walmart that would kinda go with what I'm doing, so I guess I'll do that as a last resort. So far, I've liked the Heritage Trading Company on eBay the best. The only problem is I can't be sure of the color until after I buy something, and I didn't want to have to mess around with shipping things back and forth. I'm working with a pinkish cranberry color, and I've discovered if I don't have the right color trim it doesn't look right. Thankfully I don't HAVE to have the costume done until the end of November. I was just hoping to have it done for a costume party I'm going to (kinda break it in a little and make sure it goes over okay) We'll see what happens. I'll make sure to post pics once I'm done!

Yes- Pics please! We're all curious now!

I did notice that Heritage doesn't take returns- could be risky. I wonder if they would consider sending a swatch (for a small fee of course) if you happened to see something you really liked...
