Katerina, a stunning dancer in Russia, just sent me some photos..I emailed her to find out if she has a website. She ordered some large fire half circles and used them as poi veils..stunning. Wow I love my job..
love the costume too

As for the costume - actually I designed it myself and a friend of mine sewed it for me.

I was puzzling over the pants too, they kin of look like pantaloons that have been pinned back up in places down the bottom?...definitely a funky cossie and an awesome photo (2nd one)

NandaDncer and Perizaad, actually, there are two pairs of pants. One is made of stretch material (I mixed bellydance moves with contemporary and modern dance in this number and needed the costume to allow for big movements). The second one is two separate "legs" with drapes at the bottoms.
The drapes are also functional: at first the veils are hidden inside the stretch pants (the drapes help to hide them better) and in the middle of the dance I take the veils out of my costume.
I thought long about all this:)))
PS: I also used sagats (zills) covered by fabric as weights for pois - maybe somebody will find this idea useful

Katerina maybe we can talk about a costume for veil trade some day..ahh you maybe just sew costumes for yourself since they are so time intensive? I just love them..do you have a photo of the white one you wore before? It is gorgeous too.
