Is it Rachel Brice or....?
Is it Rachel Brice?
Not quite. I've been threatening to do my interpretation of a "Rachel Brice Updo" - and figured last Saturday's Halloween Belly Dance show was the perfect opportunity:
Getting home, I tried to get some better angles. Does Rachel play the piano?
It was a LOT of fun - and I learned a whole lot in the process. Kudos to those tribal gals who do this all the time!
Now if I could only DANCE like Rachel.... (!)

*falls on ground laughing*
You know, I like this and I actually see it as quite masculine. The long hair at back, braids, topknot thing seems to be quite a standard thing for men in some cultures. I feel like you need a bone comb like my teacher's husband wears.

I know we think an outfit like this is oh so modern but I can see you clambering aboard alongside Bouddica..there's something very Celtic about it! Go Zorba Go....................

Good job! Decorating my hair had definitely been a learning process; I feel like I finally got something [b]BIG[b] enough at our performance last week. A few tips I finally figured out: for flowers that are on the side of your head, go for ones that are flat (so you don't look like you have Mickey Mouse ears), and if you want bulk fake hair really works. Also, make sure it looks as good coming and going, that is, don't forget to decorate at the back. What you worked up really goes with your costume, I'd love to see more!

ANAS - Arabian Nites At Sea:
Arabian Nights at Sea: Belly Dancing Seminar Cruise
My wife and I have gone to the last four, and are signed up again for next year. Other Belly Dance cruises are twice as long - which is nice - but that also means they're twice as expensive; AND ANAS has far more workshops (even if they *do* overlap somewhat) - the "other" cruises I've seen have 5 or 6 workshops TOTAL - ANAS has well over twice that!
Oh, and with instructors like Fahtiem, DaVid, our own Aradia, Helen Vlachos, etc, etc!
