Hello, Lovelies!
I am writing to sing the praises of a costume vendor. Lila of Scarborough, Maine! I've just made my third purchase from her. Last year I bought a bedlah from her as Christmas gift for my daughter. I also bought a velvet Egyptian dress for myself which I've performed in several times. The day before yesterday I ordered a bedlah and have just now opened the package. Yes it came that fast; shipped the same day I ordered it. It looks fabulous. The photo in her on-line catalog looked good but the actual bedlah looks twice as good; the colors and the sparkle are beyond what I'd hoped for. It's been that way with each thing I bought from her.
What I like about this vendor: Good communication. Prompt shipping. Her conveniently organized on-line catalog that allows you to easily locate what you might want without slogging through lots of stuff that's not in your size range or not your color. Variety of sizes with accurate measurments given for every costume. My daughter and I are both hard to fit; she is small; I am larger and lurk in the lonely borderland between "regular" and "queen" sizes. Size has been just right on each the 3 costumes I've bought. These are not super-pricey, big name designer costumes but they are really beautiful, well made, affordable and a great value.
Yes, it's cruel of me to babble about my gorgeous new bedlah without posting a photo. Maybe I can get to that later. In case I don't, I'll at least reveal that it's a deep shade of turquoise in holographc sequins with the trim in flat translucent sequins of an intense cobalt blue. The beaded fringe, which is abundant, is made in alternating stripes of the same 2 colors. It came with matching wristlets and one of those scrolly "crown" headpieces, which I love.
I have never met Lila; I know her only as a customer. I just think she's an wonderful costume resource and I wanted to say so!
