Praise for a vendor, Lila of Maine

Hello, Lovelies!
I am writing to sing the praises of a costume vendor. Lila of Scarborough, Maine! I've just made my third purchase from her. Last year I bought a bedlah from her as Christmas gift for my daughter. I also bought a velvet Egyptian dress for myself which I've performed in several times. The day before yesterday I ordered a bedlah and have just now opened the package. Yes it came that fast; shipped the same day I ordered it. It looks fabulous. The photo in her on-line catalog looked good but the actual bedlah looks twice as good; the colors and the sparkle are beyond what I'd hoped for. It's been that way with each thing I bought from her.

What I like about this vendor: Good communication. Prompt shipping. Her conveniently organized on-line catalog that allows you to easily locate what you might want without slogging through lots of stuff that's not in your size range or not your color. Variety of sizes with accurate measurments given for every costume. My daughter and I are both hard to fit; she is small; I am larger and lurk in the lonely borderland between "regular" and "queen" sizes. Size has been just right on each the 3 costumes I've bought. These are not super-pricey, big name designer costumes but they are really beautiful, well made, affordable and a great value.

Yes, it's cruel of me to babble about my gorgeous new bedlah without posting a photo. Maybe I can get to that later. In case I don't, I'll at least reveal that it's a deep shade of turquoise in holographc sequins with the trim in flat translucent sequins of an intense cobalt blue. The beaded fringe, which is abundant, is made in alternating stripes of the same 2 colors. It came with matching wristlets and one of those scrolly "crown" headpieces, which I love.

I have never met Lila; I know her only as a customer. I just think she's an wonderful costume resource and I wanted to say so!

This is her web address:

Love to all,
Rosette

I'll vouch for her, too. I bought my very first cabaret bedlah from Lila and she has great customer service. Her costumes are mostly mass-produced turkish bedlahs, the kind of thing you see everywhere in the shops of Turkey. But I still have the silver one I bought from her, and I still get compliments on it from Arabs. It really does sparkle nicely. No stones or anything, but the sequins are holographic and catch light. I bought a pair of silver sparkly pants to go under the 4 panel skirt (you really can't go out in the skirt that comes with the costume without something on underneath) and it makes damn decent costume! :-)

I also have purchased from her. The stuff is great and holds together. I have a costume that I bought 3 years ago, have worn many times.. and it still looks great.

I've admired her off-the-rack stuff online, but none of it ever would fit me on the top and the bottom. :S

I bought my very first bra and belt from her and I was very impressed by her response and timely shipping. I still have my mass produced Turkish bedlah and I'll always keep it even though it doesn't fit anymore. I think she is wondeful for woman who are just getting started and want a sparkely costume that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I bought my very first costume from Lila and it is still in great condition..that was nearly 10 years ago! I even dragged a chair across the floor while performing with the fringe (dont ask) and had absolutely no damage, well, except to my ego :(....

I also purchased my first bedlah from Lila several years ago. I still have it and it looks just as beautiful as the day I received it. She has impeccable customer service. I think a lot of her bedlahs are great bases for making changes as well. I snipped th center fringe from mine and added by own belly drape if you will with a pendant. I also purchased a satin skirt to wear with mine as I agree that the provided one is too skimpy. Great idea to put pants underneath!!

Lila is definitely a great vendor for basic costumes!

My first bedlah was a silver and gold holographic beauty. Never lost a single sequin or bead. Very nicely made and still looks fabulous. And I will second everyone else on the customer service. Great vendor!
