My husband would love it if I wore that one! But, I don't think I am anywhere near that brave!!!

I was thinking that, and I'm also thinking there's going to be a run on these hot little numbers based just on this discussion.

Now who gets the first one?

THTX is right - I've seen pix of old school Turkish costumes that were as daring. I'd be scared to death of an "accident" - you don't wear undies with a cossie like that!

you can definitely wear undies with that costume...the belt has nude fabric where the lacing is.

I personally would wear it - in the right venue - if the fabric were a little less crazy. That's just me though, I tend to gravitate to solid colors rather than prints...I can see it working in the Arabic nightclub! You have to be really confident and have gorgeous legs for it to work

dahlal does goth fusion now? cool! i would totally wear that over some tribal/jazz flared pants...if i had an extra $1k burning a hole in my zill bag.
but of course mine would be red and black :) all that white would be too much under the lighting in a goth venue.

I think Tanya LV could absolutely pull this off -- for the Magic Show! She looks beautiful in any costume -- I think she could really do this one justice!

i don't think it would be great for the standard gp restaurant table-to-table gig, but in the right venue, with the right music and lighting, it could be very dramatic and effective...imo

but then again, i liked the pink and black tiger striped pants in the 80's

It's not the amount of flesh that is shown that puts me off this costume, but the colours (I don't really like monochrome), and the lacing effects. As more a girly girl, I'd like to see some colour reds/pinks - some flounce - and maybe ribbon instead or lacing. It isn't my cup of tea.

Sorry, ladies. I think the Emperor has no clothes. Sure, its hot in a sort of goth-fusion-bondage sort of way. But $975 hot? I don't think so. What if you saw this identical costume at the same price on a mannikin with bad hair on eBay? It would be in the UBDC thread!

Yes, I think Tanya V would look great in this for one of her stage shows. But in most venues this costume would just say "Yep, I knew they really were strippers!"

wow...well that's interesting.

I wonder if I get a nickel for each one sold. Then I'd give it back to them and tell them to use smaller and more grommets.

You're not alone, that is definitely not my taste, either. Very much not my taste at all.

IMHO...when bad things happen to good designs...

If folks fork over $975 for that, I have to wonder what they would pay for something more sensibly designed that fits properly and looks elegant. B/c a skorset, a corset bra, and matching armbands would be about half of that and look infinitely better on more different kinds of bodies, tastefully.

Um, it looks like a Ren Faire got crossed with Austin Powers.

I've got nothing against showing skin, but...this is not what I think of when I think of belly dance.

not for $975....it's a little too Man Show fantasy-esque bondage/pirate/dancer/you name it/not enough there to justify the cost

also don't think it's particularly flattering in the chest area...and would everything stay in?!?
