I'm searching for a longish Meleya dress, I'm hoping one of you lovely ladies can point me in the right direction of some websites that sell them, I'd like to spend max $150 US (£75) if possible!
No web ideas, but your local "trashy faux Latinesque dress" outlet will do it for you. I just got a COOL asymmetric sleeveless floral dress with ruffly hem detail and some sparkly bits at a second hand shop for $20. You can usually find cute fitted stretch dresses with a bit of frill and/or bling that will do fine in the cheaper end of the market. The only danger is that they've all been tossed in favour of cute sacks, since they are the style du jour, but outlet and remainder type places will have something.
Check out a local thrift shop and look for a short floral dress that you can convert. If you are a handy seamstress, there are many dress patterns available right now that have flounces at the hemline. You can easily add a matching on at the neckline.
Also Welcome to L. Rose Designs is making them in your choice of fabrics. Not listed on their website but you can email her and ask.
Thanks guys! I struggle to sew buttons on so a do-it-myself isn't going to happen! I really appreciate all your help and suggestions and let you know how I get on!
