New costume with thin lycra

I just got a new red costume from a fellow Bhuzzer and the top is really, really nice. The skirt though . . .
Well the lycra is really thin and it shows every bump and bulge. It is not really tight on me though and any looser it would not stay up.

I don't feel comfortable going out in public with this look. I am curvy and I like my curves, but this is just not flattering. The skirt is fitted lycra down to about mid-thing, then chiffon flowing to the floor. Two slits in front of each leg.

What can I do? Thoughts, comments, suggestions???

Re: New costume with thin lycra

hmm...you can't really wear shapewear under a skirt (I don't think; never have myself). Could you get your hands on some powermesh and sew it along the inside where the lycra is? Or add another layer of lycra so that area has more weight

Build in a pair of red boy or bike shorts.

Re: New costume with thin lycra

I second the idea of lining it with powermesh or even swimsuit lining. I recently made two trumpet skirts from thinnish lycra and I lined them because of the situation you mentioned above.

Re: New costume with thin lycra

lasenza.com has low waist boyleg shapewear in nude colour ,maybe they would be ok to sew in the skirt . i have a couple of costumes that have boy shorts sown in the skirt to keep it in place.
I havent worn shapewear undies but i saw those in the store( one of my favourite store) and they dont have big seems so i think they would be discreet enough under the skirt.
at less than 20$ they would be worth a try.
if the slits are really high you just make sure you make a couple of stiches so it doent show the short.

Re: New costume with thin lycra

Hey, thx! The lasenza boy shorts look great at will run me about what the powermesh fabric would anyway, so I am ordering them tonight.

I love Bhuzz because no matter what the problem or question, the women here always have a solution.

Re: New costume with thin lycra

I have a dress made of fairly thin lycra/jersey knit and it shows undie lines and every bump, BUT not when I wear a slip under it.

Re: New costume with thin lycra

The style of the skirt sounds like one I have from Amira. I find that wearing fishnet body stockings or full nets with the legs smooths out everthing. It especially looks nice under Bella costumes that have a lot of windows on the sides.
