spin off thread - lash conditioners dangerous?

After I had the lash-extensions do-it-yourself horror of losing my real lashes in the process, I ordered the Mavala Double Lash conditioner. After I ordered, my friend emailed me this link.

Stick to Mascara and Eyeliner For Fuller Lashes - Prevention.com

Is this the same type of lash conditioner I ordered? Is there a risk in using these products??

That article specifically refers to the Jan Marini Eyelash controversy previously discussed on another thread here.Check back to read all about it.
Products can be or not dangerous depending on their ingredients. In case of the Mavala you ordered i've been using that product for a couple of years without any problem. You should know that even if the product works for somebody, results may vary depending on each individual. Also any product carries an allergy potential depending on a variety of response.

I used the Mavala Double lash conditioner a few years back and I didn't notice any negative or positive effects. The conditioner would flake off after a while but it may work for you.

Use it at bedtime with your face and eyes totally clean.

First I've heard about it. One good product is Avon's Beyond Color Lash Fortifying Mascara. I have problems with my lashes getting dry to the point of irritating my eyes in the winter, so I was searching for a lash conditioner. It was recommended as one of the best products out there. I was a rep until yesterday (when I put my very last order in), so imagine my surprise at finding one of our products was supposed to be so good. I ordered it, and I've been using it whenever my lashes get dry. It flakes a little bit, but it's really good for your lashes, so I can deal with a few flakes. Mine stopped irritating my eyes within a very short time. When your lashes start to grow, you may want to find a rep and get some to use until they're stronger.

Does one even really NEED lash conditioner? I heard rubbing good ol' olive oil on your lashes every night worked wonders. I have yet to try it....I can barely remember to take my birth control before bed as I'm supposed to!
