My new favorite moisturizer : ))))))))))
I'm not a make-up maniac or skincare obsessed but get a little crazy about dry skin as soon as winter hits. For a long time I've used "Hope in a Jar" by Philosophy but I've had to be careful not to put it on my chin because I break out there (wierd right?). Well I have a client that only buys Avon's Hydrofirming Day Cream and when she asked me if I'd used it I hesitantly said no and told her about Philosophy. Anyways to make a long story short she very nicely said I was nuts and I told her I would try it. Now I'm hooked and I wonder if anyone else has other Avon products that they live by. My other personal faves include "Honey & Vitamin E bubble bath" and the Moisture Therapy "Intensive Lip Moisturizer". So what do bhuzzers use??????

I buy moisturetherapy hand cream for my husband and I've used sweet honesty spray for about three years now. haven't tried the hydofirm yet. My grandmother used a liquid deodorant for years but they just stopped making it I think, she's heartbroken :'(

Re: My new favorite moisturizer : ))))))))))
I LOVE shiseido's daily moisturizer w/spf 15. I wanted to go with something more nature-based and have been using Boscia, but it actually makes my skin dry. So I'll revert to shiseido unless you have an Avon product for combo skin that has spf :)
I use pure raw shea butter for a body moisturizer. I have eczema and I find that it works the best on my skin! I also love good ole fashioned vaseline.

I swear by Oil of Olay face products. I also like to take a vitamin A, vitamin E, Alphalipoic Acid and Co Enzyme Q-10 in the evening before bed. It's "The Skin Cocktail".

I do the shea butter thing too! I like microwaving it for a few seconds to melt it and I use it to remove eye make-up.

I buy the equivalent of creme de la Mer from SkinActive laboratories for daily wear. It contains the same exact ingredients at a fraction of the cost.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Best-WRINKLE-CRE...QQcmdZViewItem
For nighttime however, I use glycolic acid 10% every night, and Retin A once a week, advice given to me by Suha Azar who's got skin like porcelain. Her dermatologist in Lebanon recommends this.

I love Darmalogica, intensive moisture cream, but right now I´m trying out eminence 7 greens moisture whip and I´m loving it. I´m trying to find a organic skin care line that I like, and Eminence seems to be the one.

You also have to consider the age factor. The skin of somebody in their 20's-30's is not the same as one past 50's.

Re: My new favorite moisturizer : ))))))))))
I'm a big fan of the AVON "Silcone Glove" hand lotion. I also use their Glimmersticks eyeliner and lipliner - it's very nice and wears all day long.
I was using their skin care line, but my rosacea and weirdo oily yet flaky skin was having none of it. I'm just about to go back to my liquid Cetaphil as both a cleanser and a moisturizer as my rosacea is acting up again and I don't want to deal with my dermatologist yelling at me when I go back in. (She's great but she's MEAN!! LOL!)

What product do you use? I really need something for night - my skin could use the love!
Leenanyc - I never melted shea butter in the microwave, but I'll totally try it tonight!
Off the moisturizer topic - can anyone recommend a good body wash to prevent body breakouts? TMI - I KNOW!!

Glycolic acid as well as salicilyc and lactic acid are the most often used of the alphahidroxy acids. This are buffered versions of chemical peels used by dermatologists and estheticians.Retin-A was originally used for treating serious acne, and a few years ago has been widely prescribed by dermatologists as an anti-wrinkle medication for external use.

That's exactly right Sashy. I don't use a name brand glycolic acid or Retin A. I just use generic ones from the drugstore. There's different strengths, and I use the strongest ones that are available over the counter, but if your skin is really sensitive you'd probably want to start with the mildest one first.

LOL
I thought this was hilarious.
Yeah, for those of us over 45 - I'm not just moisturizing, I'm trying to find plastic surgery in a jar!
I've been having some difficulty with my lips being dry lately and bought Dr. Hauschka intense lip balm. Worked instantly.
For my face - I use Body & Soul glimmer moisturizer during the day but have not been using night cream.
Thanks for the tips people - I need to find a good one and this thread has great advice. I can get Dermalogica at my local CVS I think & have been interested in that line of products.

I'm totally in love with Prevage and Prevage Eye ever since starting using them almost a year ago. This is almost like "plastic surgery in a jar",or the closest to it.I've to admit adding to this regimen Prevage Night. From then on i would not know how to live without Prevage line.
