2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
I'm going to be purchasing a simple 2 tone costume soon and am taking combo suggestions. So far, here's what I've got:
Navy and Salmon (peach if no salmon)
Purple and Lime
Black and Pink (played out?)
Turquoise and Royal Blue
aaaaaand, that's all I can come up with. I'm open to anything! Throw it out there!

Re: 2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
copper and teal
copper and dusky peach
copper and aqua
Of course it depends on the style of the costume as well....sexy? elegant? playful?

Re: 2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
Costume style is somewhere between sexy and elegant. I want a dark color with a punch of color. I've revised the list in my head to include black and teal and not black and pink.
I don't have anything red (how did that happen?)
I can't think of any light color combos that don't make me think of cotton candy...

Re: 2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
What about gold and plum (or wine)? That screams sexy and elegant in my opinion. Turquoise or teal and black are nice too. I really suggest the plum (wine) and gold though. A bit of dark and light, but still sexy sophisticated at the same time. Just a suggestion!

Re: 2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
Oooh, that gold and plum idea sounds nice. Or, have you considered something like black and gold? Or royal blue and gold?

Re: 2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
My two favorites are turquoise + lime green (very vibrant) and orange + fucia. (I made costumes in each, I love it).
Lemon + turquoise is nice, too,
or peach + baby pink.
Plum + lime green.
Raspberry + orange
Mint green + lavender
Cream + chocolate
...ok all these colors start to sound like food :)

Re: 2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
I'd go for emerald and black or burnt orange and black.

Re: 2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
The 2 shades will be the lycra that the costume is made out of, not the accent color of any beads or sequins. So I don't know that a gold lycra would look very good.
Brown and Turq is one I've never considered. Marianna - you've given me lots to think about...
Hhmm....emerald/black.
Thanks guys. Anyone else?

Maria - pink and red go together? I don't believe I've ever seen that...
Does a sage olive-y green go with burgundy?

Re: 2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
Nobody's said purple and red yet. (Two colors I've loved putting together since I was 3 or 4, but have yet to do into a dance costume.)

Re: 2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
Purple and red look fabulous together, although some people don't like alot of popping colors. I was recently browsing through Tribe and saw a dancer, who's also a bhuzzer, wearing a purple LRose type skirt and purple gauntlets combined with a red bedlah. It looked stunning.
I just finished making a costume where I combined Aqua with Fuchsia. I posted several pictures of it on Tribe:

Re: 2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
I am loving the blue and teal idea.
I'm working on a green and silver that is sooooo pretty and sparklie. I am not sure how green will look on my skin tone, so I'm not too excited, but the costume alone looks wonderful

Re: 2 tone costume - color combo suggestions
I like the idea of olive with red, olive and wine/raspberry, or brown and teal, not a fan of red and pink, or red and orange they are too similiar.

That's beautiful! Nice job!
I have a royal blue costume with lime green accents. I get loads of compliments on it. It's really a great color combo. The green pops.

I think the last two (black/pink and turq./royal blue) are played out.
I'm intrigued with Navy and Peach; Purple and Lime come in a close second and make me think of Mardi Gras!
