Re: Ulta brand Minerals kit?
I never had experience with it, as I tend to stick with Bare Minerals or Jane Iredale. Is there any indication of the ingredients (talc, mica) or how it's milled?
I think if you find it is effective, stick with it, especially for stretch marks! Many women try to figure out how to cover them! You mean, you use both products to cover stretch marks? What kind of stretch marks? The dark or the light?
I'm curious!

Re: Ulta brand Minerals kit?
of course it covers the light ones better but you can barely see the dark ones and if you apply it like 3 times they practaly dissapear......try it! I used it on my tummy and hips and i like it. I can now wear my costume lower on my hips and not be so self concious

Re: Ulta brand Minerals kit?
And it's a mineral-based foundation? Like all powder? That's fascinating! And wonderful! It doesn't come off on your costumes or when you perspire?

Re: Ulta brand Minerals kit?
How do you apply it (kabuki brush? regular brush? sponge?)? Sorry I'm so freaky with the questions! I like to know about things to add to the makeup arsenal. ;0)

FIrst I have to thank you ladies!!!!
Because of all the different threads and posts I just had to try Bare Minerals---
I've been unhappy for a long time with my makeup finds, looking for "the right one"
I tried it and am now totally hooked, thrilled to pieces, and broke of course
from buying too much at once LOL! But it is just what I was looking for.
I am curious about the difference between it and the Ulta brand though?
Would love to hear what you think now.....
and Azhia, since I'm a newbie, how do I go about applying the foundation with a sponge?

Re: Ulta brand Minerals kit?
I love love love Everyday Minerals. I get nothing from recommending them, and have not experienced many of the other brands (though it can be tempting) because I am so happy with them (quality, price, & customer service).
Satisfied customer + teeny plug.

Re: Ulta brand Minerals kit?
Stick with whaaaaat works for you, especially if all the stars are aligned in your favor with that product!
Anisah, you're interested in applying the mineral foundation with a sponge?
I think (anybody else please pipe in!) your best bet is to dip it in product, pat onto the skin, and then brush excess off/blend with a large brush. Alcone sponges ROCK MY WORLD b/c they are latex-free and biodegradable. Invariably, with the mineral-based foundations, brushes come into play for application. A sponge will give you a super matte finish and deposit some serious pigment for coverage.

That's the brand I use too! LOVE!!! It's cheaper than Bare Minerals and doesn't have Bismuth, which I'm allergic to. The eyeshadows and blush are really nice, too. Very pigmented.
Once you find something that works for you, stick with it. It can be so frustrating to find that perfect product though!

Re: Ulta brand Minerals kit?
Me, three, on the Everyday Minerals. I got so tired of feeling like my face was bogged down with oils from liquid makeup. Plus, it's so much easier to apply! It doesn't seem to provide as much coverage as the liquids, but my skin is pretty good. I just ordered a couple of their brushes. Maybe that will help with coverage. I have some of their sample foundations and I'm trying to decide which works best for my skin tone. I also have some of their blushes, eye shadows and a lip gloss and all those are great!

Re: Ulta brand Minerals kit?
Are any of the other brands less shimmery than Bare Minerals? I have some of the latter and while I like the ease of applying a powder foundation and it's a good match for my skin, I always feel a little too "reflective" when I wear it. I know a lot of foundations now include light reflecting or diffusing particles to give you a glow and fuzz out your lines, but I'm not convinced they're the best thing for me -- I start feeling a little moon-faced as soon as I put the stuff on. (Ya amar!)
On the other hand Studio Fix is about the mattest matte I know and I fear it makes me look dead, so maybe I'm just hard to please.

Re: Ulta brand Minerals kit?
I use the Ulta brand miinerals and love them. I espeically like their eye shadows and eye liners. I've not tried them on stretch marks so I don't know if they will "sweat off", but they've been great on my face so far.

Re: Ulta brand Minerals kit?
Bastet - for higher coverage areas I use the Bare Essentials brush (I think it's a concealer brush?)...smaller, more tightly bound brushes will work for more coverage. There's also a heavy coverage version too, if I recall correctly. Because I get occasional rosacia outbreaks, I also use a cream concealer by Vincent Longo.
Zana - Everyday Minerals has various types of coverage. I use the matte version which has little to no sparkles and is somewhat heavier. It doesn't leave your face looking flat, though. It works well!

Thanks!! I will have to try that!
I can't thank you ladies enough for all your input and ideas---for once I feel like I'm actually getting comfortable in the makeup dept after all these years,
not just stumbling along wasting my money on stuff that doesn't work!

Re: Ulta brand Minerals kit?
another total everyday minerals convert here.
bastet - if you didn't already, i would recommend getting their "premium foundation brush" for a little more coverage. i have had great luck with it if i load it as usual for mineral makeup (dip, tap off excess, yadda yadda yadda) and then apply it with short upward strokes -- especially over the middle of the face where my pores are a little bigger. (i have pores at all only before makeup, that is, heheh)

Tip! If you decide to order their make-up, or whenever you order anything from them, remember to get a sample kit each time! Just tack it on to your order. It is a free and easy way to try out new colors/shades, or to get extra of what you know you love.
I am extra excited because I got an order delivered today, and I got a sample kit with some new shades, plus they sent me a free gift of three brushes and two full sized eye-shadows, both of which I like a whole lot and will definitely use.
So today? My make-up scratch has been ITCHED!
