Workout Playlists

Hi all,
So I finally made it back to the elliptical today after a long hiatus, and realized that my workout playlists tend to consist solely of Middle Eastern music. Anyone else? I thought it may be fun to share what specific songs we listen to when working out... maybe get some ideas for new playlists!
Here's mine from today:

Darb Al Habaib (Ashraf Zakaria - Music for Egyptian Dance)
Magic of Orient II (Dr. Gebali - Magic of Orient II)
Qasr Al Shoq (Mokhtar Al Said - Raks Sharki)
Tahia's Dance (From Jalilah's Raks Sharki Vol. 5)

I didn't even make it through all of the songs since some songs are rather long. Makes a workout feel super quick when you know you just have to get through 3 or so songs!

Re: Workout Playlists

C'mon, no one's got anything? How about non-middle eastern?

Re: Workout Playlists

I've got way too much on my shuffle to list! But I'm tired of most of it, so it's time to update my playlist (though I'm keeping the Right Said Fred "I'm Too Sexy"!). I want to get some fast belly dance techno type stuff. I've read the other thread on techno and am searching around.

I did download "Frequency" by Naked Rhythm today from emusic. Now to find more like it!

Re: Workout Playlists

My workout music is weird--I walk forever on the treadmill--to mostly hip-hop.

My favorites are:
Jay-Z (my secret boyfriend)
Kanye
Destiny's Child
Mary J.
Henry Rollins (my other secret boyfriend)
Indian pop music

Re: Workout Playlists

I can't work out to ME music, for some reason. I either like upbeat hip-hop/pop like Fergie or Beyonce, or mega heavy metal like Pantera or Tool.

Re: Workout Playlists

My favorites for workout are Reda Darwish "Halawah" (love his "Arabic Tequila" rendition) and Hossam Ramzy/Samy El Babil "Cairo Nights" because of its jazzy feel. I also tend to listen to music for upcoming performances and love anything by Nancy Ajram.

Yeah, me too. Somehow, orchestral middle eastern doesn't work for exercise.

Re: Workout Playlists

Middle eastern doesn't work for me either. Lately it's been nothing but Bhangra, old-school hip-hip, Timbaland and the latest Calabria remix.
