Hah!!!! Fabulous? No. Not on me. I used to have a friend who pulled her eyelashes out, yes, I said eyelashes. She was so beautiful that no eylashes looked good on her. Unreal.... (she wasn't terribly emotionally or mentally stable at the time, but stunningly beautiful all the same!!)

Re: Eyebrows - Pluck, thread, wax?

I love threading! It works great for the eyebrows & chin, etc. I get mine done by a lovely Indian woman I've gone to for almost 20 years. She's been my hair stylist as well.

Gosh I haven't thought of the "eyelash pulling" in years. I had a next door neighbor when I was growing up that not only chewed her fingernails to nubs, but pulled out her eyelashes/eyebrows and ate them. I always thought is was a strange habit and later found out it's an actual disorder called Trichotillomania.

Sounds so incredibly painful Thanks so much for sharing! I'll stick to brazilian waxing for now.

You are not alone...I love to pluck my eyebrows!

It took a little practice and from time to time an unintentional shocked look to my face, but you will get the hang of it. I like to put a little hot water on my face first to soften up the hair and open up the pores a bit.

What on earth in threading? I have heard this before but never an explanation of what it actually is.

OMG, I just remembered when I first started getting waxed down under, as the aesthetician ripped, one of my legs would have this major reflex reaction! It was embarrassing! I felt like a chicken on its back!

Re: Eyebrows - Pluck, thread, wax?

I love getting my eyebrows waxed. But, since I moved I really don't know where to go, or who I could trust.

So now I just pluck them away...

Although, I would love to have the hair removed on my upper lip. Seems after I had it waxed a couple of times, and as I am getting older, it is getting worse.

Re: Eyebrows - Pluck, thread, wax?

I tweeze and wax once in a while (mainly to reshape what I end up messing up). When I tweeze I place a really hot wet hand towel on the area I'm tweezing (it opens up the pores and it doesn't hurt nearly as bad when the hair comes out). Right after - ice cube. It really takes the sting away and makes the lasting redness fade pretty quickly. I usually put a bit of aloe vera or soothing noxzema on it to make my pretty new brows go"Ahhhhh"
