keeping wings pleated and nice - your secrets?

I just got my first pair of wings. I didn't think I ever would, but I got a good deal and thought what the heck, why not? I've been dancing about with them, and that's happily easy. But when I went to put them away, I was fussing about with them and trying to avoid the impulse to just stuff them violently back into their little storage bag.

So tell me what the secret is, how do you tote and stow these things and maintain those crisp pleats?

I gather them up, pleat by pleat. Time consuming, yes, but I don't think there's any other way. After a gig, room permitting, I lay them out on the floor on wing at a time and just push the edges together; the pleats should fold up themselves quite nicely. When one wing is done, I fold it in half, then do the other wing. Does that make sense?

I hang them and mostly put them in the #@*%^@ bag only for transport.
