Rare Minerals Skin Revival Treatment???
Has anyone tried this? It sounds too good to be true. It's designed to be used on freshly washed skin and takes the place of a night moisturizer, from what I've read.

Re: Rare Minerals Skin Revival Treatment???
I was wondering the same. Have a gift cert to Sephora I've just been sitting on and this was the product that looked the most enticing. But, sleeping with make-up on sounds weird. Why doesn't Clear look clear??

Re: Rare Minerals Skin Revival Treatment???
I couldn't find an ingredients list anywhere, which is the first thing I'd want to know about this product.
I'm a bit skeptical, too, but I've had no experience with this product so I can't form a judgment about it.
It's an interesting concept...

Re: Rare Minerals Skin Revival Treatment???
Why would you need tinted product on while you sleep? Don't bother, it sounds like a buncha hype. Stick to good old moisturizer. JMHO!!!

Re: Rare Minerals Skin Revival Treatment???
i use mineral make-up as a foundation exclusively...............so i'm curious as well to see if it would be a good supplement.............
my skin IS aging, but still prone to acne and minerals are the only foundation that doesn't break me out but still has amazing stage-worthy coverage and doesn't clog pores.
i've managed to avoid lines typical to over 40,(aside from thin ones around the eyes, unavoidable), and would like to continue to :D
yep, fightin' age tooth n nail, so, azhia?

Re: Rare Minerals Skin Revival Treatment???
okay, my MIL gave me this for xmas.
I had the same question - why the hell do I need to look beautiful when I'm sleeping? Can't that be the one place where I can drool & have messed up hair. Jeezus.
Anyway, I tried using it with the instructions. As far as I can tell (unless I got a dud), it's like the emperor not wearing any clothes. I turn it upside down to "release the product", rub it on my face, all I feel is the applicator. No effect, nothing else. Really really wierd.
I love Bare Escentuals makeup but that Rare Minerals stuff is just wacky.
The Bare Gold makeup is nice though (this was also in the xmas gift.)

Re: Rare Minerals Skin Revival Treatment???
Oh but can I say that the Bliss product "Youth as we know it" is amazing. I got it in a kit at Sephora along with this triple oxeginizing mask and it really gives you that tight, young feeling. I love love love it. I'm switching over from my former Kiehl's Abyssine Lotion.

Re: Rare Minerals Skin Revival Treatment???
Good for you, Nepenthe, Kiehl's tests on animals... (I'm not sure about Bliss).
Thanks for listing the ingredients, Nasila! Hmmm...well it's organic soil so that's good, wouldn't want those pesticides entering your skin...
I don't question in the ingredients, I just question the method of delivery of the nutrients. On a cellular/molecular level, I just can't imagine anything small enough that's a solid that would penetrate the skin to deliver the goods. Our skin is a high percentage of liquid (water, oils); therefore, a liquid carrier would have a better chance of delivering nutrients to the skin at a cellular level, rather than a mineral product.
But that's just me. Perhaps a dermatologist, scientist, or other MUA has another opinion about it.
I think if it works for someone, keep using it. It's just so new to me!
The main reason you would want to use a different product as a nighttime moisturizer is you are sleeping and not usually wearing makeup or any other kind of artificial "barrier" to keep moisture in. A heavier cream will maintain moisture as you sleep through the night. I use straight up essential oils especially good for aging skin in a vegetable oil carrier for nighttime. I'm an oil slick when I go to bed. And I exfoliate (not almond scrub b/c it just scratches the skin, but again, something that exfoliates at a cellular level) so that products can absorb properly.
I'm all for the least amount of ingredients when it comes to skin products.
If anybody else has experience with this product, please do tell!

Re: Rare Minerals Skin Revival Treatment???
i use it and like it. it is in addition to moisturizer, not instead of. apply your nighttime moisturizer and apply the Rare Minerals about 10 minutes later, after the moisturizer has been absorbed.
i keep it on my nightstand and apply it after i've gotten into bed.
i've been so stressed the last several months that it's affecting my skin. when i when i use the Rare Minerals, it's much better. little blemishes that are threatening at bed time are gone the next a.m. bigger ones don't get out of control. i flipped out in december and forgot to use it a couple of weeks and my face went to hell, including glow-across-the-room monsters.
it takes a bit of banging to start it flowing when you open a new one. i thought it was the emperor's new clothes too the first few days i tried it, but then i banged it on the counter and hey presto, there was the product. you can't smack it on your face hard enough to get it flowing. it doesn't "brush" on. you have to tap it all over your face then buff it in.
as for its "make up" qualities, it lightly evens out the complexion. it doesn't yuck up my pillow cases. it would be a bonus if you don't want to be seen w/o makeup but don't want to "wear make up."
i admit that at my age i might be delusional and grasping at straws, but so far i'm still happy with it. **your mileage may vary**

Carolynn, thanks for your post. It's interesting that you use this in addition to moisturizer. The CEO was advocating using it on freshly washed skin *without* moisturizer. Eek!!

Re: Rare Minerals Skin Revival Treatment???
Carolynn - I banged the applicator (lid closed) on the counter several times and I am seeing more of the "product" appearing. Thanks for the tip - maybe it isn't a dud.
