Oh my gosh! The item(s) in the lower left corner are that silly little "learn to be a belly dancer" gift set that was all over the place just a few years back. The package was just about the size of a fine perfume gift set and included an instruction booklet and a set of (relatively cheap) zils. I believe it was being marketed through some of the retail book sellers (Waldens, Barnes&Noble, Borders, etc.). I think that retailed for something close to $20. And then to see it paired with the cheesy/lame stretch-sequined bra and belt set (that was lame back in the late 70's/early 80's...). I don't think the "exotic ensemble" even comes close to topping $100. (Who are the people that will by that for this price and what can *I* sell them?)

I actually bought that and gave it to my kids to play with. I didn't want them fooling around with my Saroyans. Those zills make the most awful sound. But it turned out to be a good move as they lost one of their zills.

Someone I know gave one to me as a secret santa type gift. I gave the zills to a sweet little girl. She loves them

The booklet that came with the zills was written by Philadelphia's own Valerie Rushmere at Valerie's Studio 1831 -- Belly Dance, Yoga, Fitness, and Fun in Philadelphia. (Just a tidbit). ;0)
