Pharonics latest collection - with pics!!
Sigh
I was in Cairo a couple of weeks ago and went to Pharonics for the first time.
I was with a big group and we were riffling through the racks (as you do) when Amira came in. She announced that we were all to sit down and she would present her latest collection.
She told us that from the time of the Pharoahs through to the Arabs, Egyptian art had included a fusion of flowers and geometry and that was what had inspired this collection.
She then talked us through every piece explaining how she used cut of cloth and patterns of crystal and beading to flatter the figure or to make skirts swirl. And she demonstrated the level of detail and the trial and rejection they went into to make something perfect.
We were blown away. The woman is a genius.
And the costumes are just gorgeous. I bought a truly beautiful dress with a sweetheart neckline and the cleverest beading and crystals on the backside which somehow contrives to make my bum look fabulous Also a bedlah (which I hadn't planned on buying but couldn't resist) which she called 'Tamra Henna' Both of them have a wonderful 'golden age' look about them.
She said they wouldn't be ready in the week we were there so she'd ship them. But when we went back for a fitting two days later they'd done them! Four costumes made to measure in two days!
She told us that the collection was being launched in June - and I've already got two pieces from it

Help!! I can't work it out
They're in my gallery though... http://www.bhuz.com/index.php?cmd=/p...name_sunshine/
I've also posted a piccie of the Hanan dress I bought on the same trip. Please note the matching cats - a girl must have the right accessories you know...
But can anyone tell me how to get them from the gallery to here? I tried following Rosie's advice from the Questions thread but I can't see the URL she mentions...

inserting pictures from your gallery:
-open a window with the picture in your gallery and the page where you want to post it.
-right click on picture, choose the lowest option and copy the url of the picture.
-click on 'insert picture' icon and paste the url into the pop-up screen.
like this:
I love the Tamra Henna costume! Did you get the matching cat for free?

I love the feline print - super fab. That's my favorite - though I like the others as well.
The gold tones really make you luminous.

You know, I never thought I could wear black until I tried on these. Everything else I have is in browns, golds and greens. So for me, black is terribly daring and exciting
Oh, and I forgot to say - see the chiffon swash down the front of the dress? It's held on with a popper with the idea that you can take it off and show lots of leg. She has loads of things with poppers on in this collection which she pulled off with a flourish when she was demonstrating to us.
so, for example there's one bedlah with a very romantic, long chiffon skirt which you use for your oriental number and then you give it a tug and panels fall off and voila! A sexy, short, drum solo number!
Very racy...

**Gorgeous**! Those are really lovely costumes, and they really suit you. The bum detail on the black one is great! I love the idea of the popper-thing too.
