Speaking of Glitter-Dot...
There was a dancer Saturday night who wore a costume piece made of silver glitter-dot.
Needless to say, it was all I could do to keep from busting out with "FASTER GLITTER-DOT! KILL! KILL!"
That's all.
(His performance was very good! No, I was not fixed on the evil glitter-dot for the whole thing. lol)

I saw a troupe costumed in red glitter dot at the festival I attended this weekend. They looked nice. I couldn't help wondering how they managed to sew entire costumes out of that stuff. But I about the Killer Glitterdot!

I love sheer glitter dot for skirts and veils. You do break a lot of needles sewing seams on the metallic but it flows nice and doesn't require hemming although I usually add sequin trim.

There is a girl in my troupe wearing a glitter-dot panel skirt and choli top for our "Fae Moon" performance on Friday. She's the "Silver Moon" Fairy.

Glitter Dot sounds like the name of a washed up show girl.

I've only liked glitterdot for myself if it's in panels as a VERY under layer and only peeks out now and then.
Or.....In one of my tribal belts, I sewed strips of glitterdot into tubes that rn the length of my yarn belt and mixed with the yarn...adding only sparkle here and there.
That's only my preferrence for myself though.

Now now, you weren't supposed to take "FASTER GLITTER-DOT! KILL! KILL!" literally!

It's a fabric that has shiny plastic circles on it, sometimes clear sometimes metallic that adds some sparkle to the fabric. It's usually sort of ugly up close and can look nice far away. It can look quite tacky sometimes, and I usually don't like it. However, I did recently buy a lycra costume that is made of a funky patterned glitterdot (where the dots are clear) and its actually really cute. I'll post pics after my bra surgery is done...

I am not familar with the phrase glitter dot. But I am aware of confetti foil fabric, is this what you are referring to?

This is glitter dot:

Personally, I think it rocks. The way it shimmers on stage is mesmerizing to me!

I used to have a bikini made of glitter dot.
Until I laundered it...
But as the man said -it's "go go" not "cry cry"!

<pulls Lucinia gently out from under her bed>
Glitter dot looks great onstage, lots of stage costumes use it.
The original complaints about glitter dot had to do with how hard it is to SEW, the way it gums up your sewing machine needle, etc. It wasn't a rant about the fabric being ugly/tacky.
WEll, a few people hate it, but there are people who hate velvet, lycra & chiffon, too. You literally can't please EVERYONE, if you try you'll be paralyzed by indecision!
