AMEN!!!!!

I got my latest Dahlal catalog/flyer & I really think costumes are showing more!!! I'm sorry, but my talent as a dancer is reflected thru my dance & not what I am showing. Yes, I am older (just had my 29th birthday yesterday! ). I also think that latin ballroom dance costumes are also becoming very skimpy.

I'm also muslim & prefer to dance covered. But it does not mean that I dance in caftans all the time. I still wear my favorite bedlahs with the midriff mesh nets. I mean others may like to wear the more showy ones or feel that the middle HAS to be bare, but to each her own.... I'm afraid that one day someone will be dancing to the classic Josephine Baker banana costume where she's topless (maybe with nipple covers) and a grass skirt with bananas hanging from her waist!

Of course I dance for certain parties or events & maybe I wouldn't be a good candidate for night clubs. If I perform at women's parties, I can reveal a little more which means no mesh nets. But I wish we can go back to a little modesty in our costuming. REALLY!! We are trained professional dancers!!!
