no email notification

Hi,

I cannot get an email notification when I subscribe. I used to get one but don't anymore even though I check the box indicationg I would prefer that option. I still get email notifications when I get a PM. Any suggestions?

There are two places you need to look at to make sure you get forum notifications.
If you write a post, scroll down that page after you write your stuff and select if you want to be notified.

You also have to select the type of notification in the My Settings link in the navbar above

And then, you have to make sure that the email address you have on file is correct and that the notifications are not blocked.

In many cases your spam killer is blocking the notifications.

Rosey, I checked everything you said but I believe everything is well set up. And I use MailWasher so if the notifications would be blocked I should see them first..

Hi Rosey,

I haven't received an email from Bhuz since 2/22/08.
I checked my spam filter, no Bhuz messages.
And I did check the notify me box, in some of my posts.
I also thought I was doing something wrong.....

My e-mail diverts all suspected spam messages to a folder which I check and empty periodically. Have never found a message from Bhuz in there.

Strangely I just got several bhuz notifications all of a sudden..

I have all the right boxes checked and don't get notifications either, haven't for a good 2 to 3 months. I get private message notification but with out the click on link in the notification. My spam filter has never had any Bhuz stuff. I check the one at gmail at least once a month and the spam box in my mail tells me when something is in there and it never has had bhuz either.

After trying everything I could think of to be notified I gave up.

Go to My Settings in the navbar above, then go to edit options and you will see

Default Thread Subscription Mode

That's where you need to set up how you want to be notified of threads you subscribe to.

In the past, when I subscribed to a thread, I could choose whether to recieve email notifications of each individual thread or not. That way, I could choose to have email notifications for some and not others. I looked at the information you listed above and it looks like now it is an all or nothing with subscription notifications now? That you cannot pick and choose anymore? Am I understanding this correctly or am I missing something?

I'm receiving notifications now. I went to the settings info, didn't change anything, and got a notification this morning...weird., but I'm happy

I have done all that Rosey has said several times and still didn't receive notifications, then I remembered I read in one post somewhere that someone had changed their email addy, so I thought I'd give it a try, and whallah! as soon as I changed my addy, the notifications have been coming thick and fast

Why that worked I have no idea, that is all I did, because I knew I had notifcations switched on

OK, did this (without changing any info - i just clicked "save account settings") and it worked!! strange ... but thanks, Rosey!!!!!

Problems
